Thanks for including us guys.

As always there are several rules to follow:

1) Get there early for god's sake (showing up at 2:00am and not getting in is your fault
2) Clubs that are open for 5 hours are charging $50 easily (as Diva stated) .
3) Get your tickets early so you can't complain at a later date about price
4) Have fun :)

Why would it be your fault? You purchased a ticket to an event. The ticket sales should take into account the capacity. Don't oversell the event...

^ Well i'll agree with ya there. Having a ticket SHOULD guarantee your entry. In so many cases it doesn't :( The only guarantees in life are death and taxes :y:

Ninja... please make sure you understand all the facts before commenting or perhaps at least ask before accusing or assuming that we over sold so we can't let anyone else in.

It is the City of Vancouver and thus the Fire Marshall that can put a limitation on the capacity. Regardless of what we are licensed for, the Fire Marshal can walk into the Plaza and if he wants, at any time can shut down the doors. Another example would be... 2AM rolls around and all the bars get out thus causing a flux of drunk people to hit the main door and cause a bit of scene... The Police/Fire Marshall could then decide to shut down the doors to everyone at that point to avoid any further problems regardless if you have a ticket or not.

A great example of this was recently at Simple... The Fire Marshal was great about the doors staying open late and allowing people in as we had such poor advanced ticket sales.

Now you (K)now...

Ryan - you should know by now that Azim doesn't even think about DJ times until the week of the show! No doubt he will even be changing some DJ's around in different rooms! -- I honestly don't know what his plans are yet.

Peace.

But since Diva has put me in my place with ticket prices. I won't argue that point.

However. I'm worried for those people who will pay 75 dollars. And not get in.
not necessarily. that's the thing, they are putting in a lot of money to throw this kind of show, it has a good possibility of making a LOT of money, yes. but it also has a good possibility of losing tens of thousands of dollars. that's the risk.

with only a few weeks to promo the party who knows what the turn out will be.

i agree, 75 dollars is a lot, that's why i personally wouldn't go. i'd rather be at a house party on newyears. but hey, to each their own. to a lot of people, they will shell out 100 bucks for this kind of show and not even bat an eye. you have to remember they're paying police staff, flights for dj's, hotel rooms for out of towners, huge venue cost, 4 sound systems, dj costs. i can't even imagine how much this event would cost.

You gotta be kidding me. Seriously. that's a lot.

Don't bother arguing. The only way I'll ever stop questioning your events is if this:

This new years. You let everyone with a ticket in. No excuses.
$75.00 Maximum presale (buying early can avaoid this)
divided by 10 hours
= $7.50 an hour

Any club will be charging upwards of $50.00 to get in....I past by one last year at 1am and they wanted $75.00 for 1 hour of partying but most clubs
$50.00 divided by 3 - 5 hours
= $16.60 to $10.00 an hour

House parties are free thats where I want to be =) hopefully stopping by Twisted, R.U. Listening and others that night to

Quote:
I've still heard of people not getting in though, even though they had tickets....But who knows, It could be any number of things, maybe the owner is letting in friends and what not, then reducing the capacity after that
As Kraig metioned the fire marshal and Police have the authority and even if the owner/whoever let 200 people in it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I know you'll find this really hard to believe but Plaza parties are fun to ALOT of people and they're not these big evil parties that some believe they are. Think Concert...Not Rave

i would consider a huge rave in vancouver - a crazy ass party up in bc place.. imagine getting that mofo filled up.. damn!

then invite ppl from seattle and shit.

make big! BIG!

only problems i can think of:
1) how are the ppl gonna get in.
2) water taps
3) smoke pit
4) concession stand
5) TICKET PRICE! im guessing if this party does happend.. tix would cost maybe $100+?????

Heh, people are actually complaining about ticket prices??? These are about $25 less than I thought they would be.

There's not a club in the city that will be charging less than $50 unless it's a shithole. Hell, the bloody restaurant I DJ at is charging $30 cover on New Years.

Kid Vicious is awesome, and he'll drop an awesome, awesome trance set. I doubt I'll be able to make it out for the party because I'm working and have other things to do with friends, but this definitely sounds like it will be a great one. Good work Twisted ^^

Also, congrats on the booking Eris, that's dope =)

i question any one who complains about the price, look at what other new years events are charging and they don't have have the amount of dj's/talent this party does.

So to Ninjaboy, $15 to get into snackers to listen to three hard core dj's? I hope i get free drinks with that all night. because if not, you aren't one to talk about high prices.

why can't you finally let people who want to enjoy this kind of high calibre party pay the money and enjoy it, and people who want to enjoy your kind of events enjoy yours? why bicker about every twisted party that happens. it was getting old last year, it's still old, it's time to move on to bashing some thing else, maybe canuck ticket prices. this party will cost a LOT of money to throw, do you recommend 15 dollar tickets?

PLUR ! ! !
i really have to agree with jim on this, the whole complaing about ticket prices thing was old back in 2001. and what do you expect? it is new years, its legal and its a massive. when you compare the price of this to the price of other events on new years in vancouver, its a pretty good deal because with this party, youre gaurenteed 10 hours of music without a threat of closure, good music, with decent sound and lighting. i mean even illegal some what sketchy events are charging 40+ for presales. the event at lotus is 45 and up, and thats in a sweat box that will only be open till 4am.

These prices are fairly competetive with the other events in town, and very competitive with similar events in other cities. also i can gaurentee that the rpofit margin for this party will be alot smaller then the other events going on on new years. especially when you take in permit/police/security costs into account. If i was azim i wouldn't even bother taking the risk, well maybe not on this party since itll probably sell out at the door.

man the capcity for plaza is way too low, 2700? it should be more like 3500, even 4000 could fit easily. fuck safety pack that shit like a tokyo subway, raves are supposed to be sweatboxes

You people have a lot of trouble with understanding the fact that, I admited what I said was wrong, and a stupid thing to say.

I understand that people do enjoy it. Hell, I think a lot of what I do people wouldn't find fun either. I was running my big fat mouth.

The only point I stand besides still is the fact that there are people who buy tickets and won't be able to get in.
