spectrum will become famous soon enough
do you dig DJ SHADOW, KID KOALA, AUTOMATOR, etc?

...if so, check out THE NO LUCK CLUB (scroll down for more info)
you may have seen them open for LOVAGE (AUTOMATOR, KID KOALA, MIKE PATTON) or JURASSIC 5 (twice) - all of those events were SOLD OUT

Thursday, January 23rd at Richard's on Richards

BUCK 65 (Halifax, NS) Red Liquorice - Anticon Records

Buck 65 is old. He started out as a b-boy back in '82 while living in Small Town, Nova Scotia, but today this no-nonsense white boy is the Jimmy Castor of hip hop. Handling production, lyrics, and Djing duties by himself, Buck may be the man to single-handedly rescue hip hop. Buck, who also records under the moniker Stinkin' Rich, has recorded with musicians ranging from Biz Markie to jazz dude Jerry Granelli. Many regarded Buck as somewhat of a weirdo because his subject matter includes fashion design, freestyle BMX, baseball, and ichthyology. This is music that picks up where the rap performance in Revenge of the Nerds left off.

plus guests:

THE NO LUCK CLUB (Vancity) 75 ARK - Ill Boogie

originally signed by DAN THE AUTOMATOR to 75 ARK before the label went under, now signed to ILL BOOGIE (home of RASCO, DJ REVOLUTION, etc), these cats bring the vibe brought before them by KID KOALA, DJ SHADOW, etc
no luck club = chan brothers + vancouver + beat-driven grooves + elements of various music genres + found sounds + vinyl culture + turntablism = funk + jazz + hip hop

$13 advance (+tax & s/c)
available at www.ticketmaster.ca, FWUH ZULU & FF
