As for the masterplan thing, sound restrictions have nothing to do with shitty sound there. We've had sound restrictions at plaza for over two years.
what ppl are talking about is the way the sound cuts out all the time in the bc room. Another example is new years. The countdown was completely fucked up. They've got some cool ideas, but they've got to limit their technical problems. |

throwing a party at pne is a loosing proposition right now, you would need some seriously heavy duty headlinners to sell it out, and the risk on a party that big given the current state of the rave scene, is just too great. |

There are so many other breaks djs out there besides those two, that could rock it so much better. We cant keep settling for less in this city when it comes to breaks. We've got a strong jungle scene here, I dont know why breaks have to stay so far behind? |

Hey kraig, what about kid kenobi from australia. Hes won dj of the year over there twice in a row, mixed the last two ministry of sound guide's to breaks, and knows how to rock a show.
He's toured europe and new york recently. Check out one of his cds, they're awsome. |

LINE-UP UPDATE - 01/27/2003
We have now officially added Josh the Funky 1 to the line-up at Twisted 2003... stay tuned for the announcement of our Breaks headliner. For those that don't know who Josh is, check out this: Josh "The Funky 1" hails from Chicago, the home of House Music. A DJ for over 12 years, Josh blends a unique style of funky house, tech-house, and breaks, while incorporating ill-scratching and turntable tricks. Josh's passion for the art of DJ'ing first came about when he discovered hip-hop while still in grade school. A fan of early pioneering hip-hop groups like Public Enemy, EPMD, and Eric B and Rakim, he was enthralled by the art of scratching. One day a friend lent Josh a videotape of a DJ battle, which unknowingly turned out to be a D.M.C. battle, the most renowned DJ battle in the world. Mesmerized by what he saw could be done with 2 turntables and a mixer, Josh practiced and honed his skills relentlessly. His passion and persistence proved to be worthwhile, as he has since displayed his skills in some of the most prestigious DJ battles in the world. 1997 saw Josh became a D.M.C Midwest Finalist. In 1999 Josh competed in the Winter Music Conference scratching competition where he was a runner up to 3-time world champion DJ Craze. In the year 2000, Josh took 1st place in the beat-mixing competition at the Winter Music Conference DJ spin-off. Aside from competing, Josh's passion for music has led him to compile several mix compilations including his own "House Funktion" series, which showcases his diverse music selection and wicked turntable skills. Josh has also helped to co-produce legendary D.J., Bad Boy Bill's , "Bangin the Box Vol. 4" and "Banging in London" mix compilations. As if his DJ'ing accomplishments weren't enough, Josh has also had his hand in the studio producing tracks for the infamous Chicago labels I.H.R, Kid Dynamite, and Strictly Hype Recordings. His tracks have been featured on mix compilations and DJ play-lists throughout the world, further establishing his reputation as a DJ/Producer. Josh has also lent a hand in remixing for Chicago's number one house diva, Dajae. Her first single on Kid Dynamite records entitled "Time" is an uplifting vocal anthem that has received Billboard attention and has since been licensed to Credence records in U.K. Most Recently Josh has re-mixed Dajae's newest single "Everyday", also on Kid Dynamite records and already licensed to Defected Records U.K. Not one to be content with only producing records for other labels. In 2001 "The Funky 1" launched his own record label, Funktion Recordings. The first release "Everybody Everywhere" by BSJ and Fun-K has found its way into the record boxes of DJ's worldwide. 2003 shows no signs of slowing down as producers such as Santos Scanty, and Jelo continue to churn out dancefloor stormers for his label. When not in the studio or running the label, Josh is constantly touring the world bringing his sound and skills together for the masses. |

man i think f&s are sick dj's, not that i like much of their joint productions (in this day and age) but i think they are true vets, especially on 4 dexx. I heard this old ass 1996 tape that was off the hook funky breaks and none of them were their own tracks. spice has had a few gems in recent past, although i haven't heard much of friction since they split. but yeah, cosmic is behind them, and if they are hooking back up i really think twisted should give that to the kids. |

FUCK KRAIG JOSH IS SO SICK
HEs the only dj to actually have me go off to a mixtape hes so innovative he will mix 4 tracks in 8 minutes if needed. Him and bill obviously know their records very well but I dont give a shit if he comes here with a programmed set hes been using for a couple mionths i iwll be happy cuz he will still rock it. |

WERD MAN! When I saw him play down in Seattle, he was mixing records so fast that he didnt have time to put the records back into his box, so he was just droppin them right behind him.... At the end of his set, he had a HUGE pile of records just stacked on the floor and he knelt down beside it while peeps were taking pics of it!!! Crazy shit
As for F&S, I have never heard any of their older tapes so all I can make judgement to is their current sound which is not too great.. To me they are all blahhh tracks and are just fillers. Nothing crazy or ground breaking. Just the same old.... Can we get some different styles up in this place?? DJ Love is from down south and hes down with Czech and Vinyl Richie.. Im sure that hed love to come up here just for even the chance to work with them, let alone play a gig.. Should be no sweat! Plus the guys got the sickest style of breaks!! Old School all the way with funk dripppin out from every cut... Check out his website- www.stellarmusic.com Every Breaks DJ who is been spinnin for a while and knows their shit has gotta have one of his tracks! |
