Final Line-up For Twisted 2003
FINALLY!!! -- All the info you've been asking for is here but WARNING, this is going to be long!
Since the dawn of the New Year, Twisted has laid quietly in the shadows, resting... Meanwhile, across the city, a hum of anticipation has stirred about what is to come. Whispers have grown louder day by day as people reminisce the unforgettable parties of the past. Now the time has come... Like you, we also miss the excitement and incomparable feeling of the gathering. We crave the few brief hours when thousands of people from different races, beliefs and walks of life come together. For one night at a time, we forget about the rest of the world that can not hear the music. It is impossible to describe being at an event of that size, the unexplainable feeling when the music captivates the soul of the masses. Nor can we try to describe the undeniable warmth and acceptance that you feel when the lights and sheer erotic power of the bass take over your body. Each individual being has their own story to tell in the morning, but every person is a part of a greater story. On April 19th, as the sun sets and the darkness devours the day, witness as the legend that has made Twisted makes it a night not to forget. AREA ONE - ENTERPRISE HALL - Trance / Hard House: Armin van Buuren (Netherlands - Armind, ID&T, Black Hole, Vandit, Ministry of Sound, www.arminvanbuuren.com) Whatever can be said about him, not much can do justice for this DJ superstar that is ranked in the TOP 5 IN THE WORLD. Born in Leiden, Holland (The Netherlands), Armin has been driven to produce music since he first heard Dutch Master Mixer Ben Liebrand at the age of 14. He describes his musical style as euphoric, uplifting, melodic and energetic. At his current young age, Armin's career as a producer, in itself, has the capability to deem him as a global remixing and musical genius of the 21st century. As one of the three Dutch trance figures alongside artists Tiesto and Ferry Corsten, and working with world renowned DJ's like Paul van Dyk, he has produced numerous hits that have made a lasting impact on almost every European Electronic Music Chart since 1995. Some of the tracks you may know include Blue Fear, the Sound of Goodbye, Communication, Touch Me, and Exhale. In addition, Armin's DJ career has been nothing less than phenomenal as he rocks crowds at ID&T, Cream, Slinky, Peach, Dance Valley and Gatecrasher, and in cities like Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Jerusalem, Helsinki, Ibiza, and Moscow on a continual basis. Armin's fan base is unbelievable as aspiring DJ's and partiers alike profess their loyalty to his progressive style. This city has always loved the epic and monumental sounds of Trance, and who better to take us into a memorable, melodic journey -- be sure not to miss out on a once in a life time opportunity as DJ Armin van Buuren rocks the decks at Twisted 2003. Josh "the Funky 1" (Chicago - Funktion Rec., Fused Artist Mgmt., I.H.R, Kid Dynamite, Strictly Hype) Hailing from Chicago, Josh has been DJing for over 12 years. He blends a unique style of funky house, tech-house, and breaks, while incorporating ill-scratching and turntable tricks. In 1999, Josh competed in the Winter Music Conference scratching competition where he was a runner up to 3-time world champion DJ Craze. In the year 2000, Josh took 1st place in the beat-mixing competition at the WMC DJ spin-off. He has compiled several mix compilations including his own "House Funktion" series, which showcases his diverse music selection and wicked turntable skills. Josh has also helped to co-produce legendary D.J., Bad Boy Bill's , "Bangin the Box Vol. 4" and "Banging in London" mix compilations. As if his DJ'ing accomplishments weren't enough, Josh has also had his hand in the studio producing tracks for the infamous Chicago labels I.H.R, Kid Dynamite, and Strictly Hype Recordings. On top of all that, he created his own record label, Funktion Recordings, which continues to churn out dancefloor stormers. When not in the studio or running the label, Josh is constantly touring the world bringing his sound and skills together for the masses. Aaron Simpson (Seattle - Frequency 8, www.aaronsimpson.com) Aaron is fast becoming one of the Northwest's premier DJ's and has played all through the US. He has a unique ability to fuse Trance, Breaks and even Drum n'Bass into his sets, never keeping things stale and always leaving audiences pumped. Opening for such headliners as Paul van Dyk, Jerry Bonham and Kimball Collins, welcome Aaron to his first visit to Canada as he takes you on a seamless journey through euphoria. Azim (Twisted, Swing Kids) Greg C. (Twisted, Colorado Raves) Tazix (Twisted, Swing Kids) Rosco P. When it comes to funky breaks the Finger Lickin' record label is the champion of the scene, and when it comes down to a professional, infectious style of DJing and producing, Krafty Kuts is the champion of champions. He began by aiming to mix up break beat, funk and hip-hop to produce a groundbreaking new sound and has now become an authoritive beats re-mixer. His tracks can be found lining the crates of break beat enthusiasts around the world. Over the past year, no less that 4 re-mixes have charted in the UK top 40. I am glad to hear and see that everyone is as excited for this show as I am.
In my opinion, this is one of our most solid line-up's. I think a great combination of talent that has/hasn't been here before including all the locals you love to hear as well! AND... it all falls on a long weekend! Peace. |
