boo URNS... i think sum of u drink too much hatorade lol... yea... especially for those who are too ignorant to even pick up a copy & look first b4 sayin anything. yes i agree that butter is deep into all the fashion stuff... but ion just came out... try & take a look at all of it... as a whole... i ono if butter has all that info bout music, food, fashion, nightlife, automotive, entertainment, men women, shopping, events, clubs & sports... so yea... haha ha ha ha ha... the site won't do it for you... just look at a mag... then come back & complain about it hahaha... or share your thoughts...
for sure
i deffinatly think everyone should pick up the magazine. come to your own conclusions. everything is good in its own way. the things that butter may be lacking might be taken up in Ion. or vice versa. like i said, i'm very curious to see the new magazine. -s. |

man I checked out the mag on friday and man I was just blown away from it by the graphics and the articles in it man it rox... And hey angela did u see how it's the perfect size and all and I love the electronica and the prostitutes article in it and the photo gallery at the end... Did u guys see the sweet ride in it (Benzito),

Are they paying you to do this? There's nothing wrong with a difference of opinion or taste on the matter. I could say that I was really entertained by my friend's articles, but I'm much more likely to pick up a copy of vice (it's those fashion don'ts) M |
haha...myra do you have the copy of the dec/jan Vice? the double issue? i like vice and how controversial they can be...but like...the models they used? i dunno man...that's kinda going too far cuz even the articles about them kind of mock them
-s. |
^I saw that issue... dude on the left though..... BUBBLES!!!!!
I don't think that they went too far with using who tehy did either. I think the whole point was for you to think 'Hey they're exploiting these poor people' Then you read it and look at it and think "Why should I consider it exploitation? It's a normal thing for people to do... they're handicapped... so what!?!?! Good for them... they're making money" The article was pretty good. |

myra.... whut site is the vice thing... no HAHAHA i'm not bein paid to do this... i just got overly excited after checkin out the mag... especially after knowinh how much long hard work they spent on it, & how good it turned out. ... there was sumone back on page 1 i forgot who... who was harsh hating on it tho haha & they didn't even read it. i just needed an excuse to say the hilarious word: hatorade lol... yea well i know there are differences of opinion (obviously) & i'm also curious to see those other mags... but i really don't want anyone to miss out on this one. it's liek watchin a good movie & sayin like "GO WATCH IT !! " but people are automatically sayin... that's hurting & this one's better... even though they haven't seen it yet so they wouldn't know. it''s not a contest... even if people still love their other magazines more than this one... it's just cool to have more of a variety & to know what's out that's all. as for me... i've been hooked on the source mag for a long time... but recently i haven't even picked one up for months... anyways... i wasn't makin this thread to try & get people to like this ion thing... i was makin it so they get a chance to know about ion... if not... how will they even know anything.. also wanted to share thoughts... kuz yea... i also never woulda known bout these other magazines u guys were talkin bout... now i'm gonna go on a mission to pick em up & report back to you all of the stuff i liked.. anyways ... i talk to much... hahaha this post is hellah long, but i don't wanna take up the whole dang page now... so peace :c-tard:

Holy cow!
All of that in 2-3 days of posting! Sorry guys, this one is going to be long. Got a lot of stuff to cover. I read a majority of the posts. not all of them. But i've come to a conclusion. You ravers are so cute. heh. Always jumping to conclusions. Always liking one thing and hating the rest. But I feel that I got a few things to clear up for all of you. We have the hugest props for butter magazine. I think that it is a very trendy magazine, and infact, we do look at Butter Magazine and their fashion editorials ALL THE TIME. By no means are we competing with their magazine. Vice is a magazine that we also appreciate very much. We enjoy their cutting edge and daring style. One day we want to be enjoyed to the level that people enjoy Vice Magazine. But just because we're both free and fashionable that does not mean we're competing... WE'RE ALL FREE! No, we didn't ask, nor are we paying angela to promo for us. Believe it or not i've just met her once! She visited our office on the off chance that one of our friends (who is not a raver btw) brought her to our office. I appreciate the fact that i got the chance to meet her. I got a message last night from her. She told me how she read the magazine cover to cover and she loved it. She also told me to check out FnK to read about the thread she was going to post for everyone. And this is the first time i've logged on in about 4 months. Thank you angela, I am so glad you are enjoying our magazine. For the people like Sammy - Just because you can poke fun at someone who wears the clothing you would not dare to wear, it doesn't mean their not fashionable. The people in our picture gallery are the people we are trying to expose. We love them for going out and having fun, not because of the clothes we wear. Fashion, inside ION Magazine, extends MUCH further than the clothes you wear. Fashion ranges from the music you listen to, the places you eat, the car you drive, and more importantly, your state of mind. We are here to tell people, It's ok being you! All of our articles are written to be informative, but more so entertaining. We try our best to write articles in ways they've never been written before, so Sammy, if you don't like the microscopic pictures that you've taken your time to sift through, TRY READING THE MAGAZINE TOO. don't worry, we won't tell anyone you did. Azim. He is one of my bestest friends in the whole world. I brought him into the magazine because he knows how to get the job done. My original vision for ION Magazine would NEVER have come to be if not for his constant motivation. Love him, hate him, do whatever. But try not to disrespect another person's hard work simply because you think you know better. Together, we have built a team that will help us rise above the status of being just a free magazine. We don't want to be compared to other magazines like Hobo, Nuvo, Butter, & Vice. We're a magazine that promotes undervalued aspects of our own city. I don't know why people are dissing the fact that we're here to be entertaining and a resource to you. Which is why i think it's cute that the same people who LOVE music genre one (break beatz or jungle) and LOATH music genre two (house or trance), dislike ION Magazine simply because they like butter. To the people who listen to all styles of music, GET OUT OF YOUR HOUSE NOW! FIND ION MAGAZINE! YOU'LL LOVE IT! Fashion - What is fashion to you, may be crap to someone else. What is crap to you, may be fashion to another person. If you feel that you are able to dictate what is truly fashionable, by all means, come and take a stab at writing for us. We feature clothes of all price ranges for a number of reasons. The reason which I will use to defend the people who wear Club Monaco and not Salvatore Ferragamo is this: Not everyone can afford $500 glasses and a $200 tie. But does that mean their less fashionable? No no no. Anyways, Thanks for showing your interest with the magazine. I'm officially late for work. I've been a raver for about 3.5 years now, and i'm glad to be back and posting on FnK. It's been a while. Check out the website www.ionmagazine.ca . If you have feed back, positive or negative, e-mail us. Posting on online forums like this only creates room for controversy where we have a harder time looking for comments that will help improve our magazine and makes it 10 times more difficult for us to respond to you, our reader. We're a growing company, good and bad feed back will only help us and we are more than open to listening to you. We know we can't please everyone, but we'll definately try. .Lawrence @ ION Magazine e-mail me with concerns, questions, comments and etc at [email protected] . |

ION April 2003.
Author: Michael Mann Page 32.-33 read it and you will vomit out of disgust that such blatantly calous and hearless savagry of other human beings could exist in our world. This is the single most disgusting piece of "work" i have read all year. PLEASE BOYCOTT ION!!! |
im an A student majoring in writing, I've had my work published, I have speech written for one of canada's largest firms, and I'm a certified English tutor. I know how to write. I don't deny that Mann's article is well written, but read it and you will see my point about heartless savagry.

For someone who is such a self-proclaimed genius, I'm absolutely shocked that you had such a typical knee-jerk response to this article. Bravo, you didn't get it. "...What? Eat Irish babies?..." M |
