Come and join us as we close off the summer with the most highly anticipated massive of the year. :PartEkid: area one:.. :PartEkid: trance / hardhouse Darude (16 Inch Records - www.darude.com) Finland - Live PA Set Darude (Finnish artist/producer Ville Virtanen) known for his famous track 'Sandstorm' will be performing live at IMF 2003. Darude's career got started when he met acclaimed Finnish dance producer Jaakko 'JS 16' Salovaara, the man behind successful artists like Bomfunk MC's. Salovaara signed Darude to his dance label 16 Inch Records and produced the track in co-operation with Ville. 'Sandstorm' was suddenly very popular among Finnish DJs. It went directly to number one position on the Finnish Dance Chart and dominated the chart for 17 weeks. The song found its' way to England via Internet and respectable club DJs started to play the song. Soon the biggest radio stations followed and the way to British sales charts were wide open. In June 2000 Darude became the first Finnish artist ever to reach top 3 positions on UK's single chart. The first single from Darude's second album 'Rush' is simply entitled 'Music'. The track conquered the #1 positions on the Finnish Singles Chart, the Finnish Dance Chart and the Finnish Disco Chart. The second single 'Next To You' followed its' success by taking the #1 position on the Finnish Singles Chart on release. Come and experience him live at IMF 2003 as he set to rock the dance floor. Dumonde aka JamX & Deleon - (www.dumonde.de) Germany DuMonde are Jurgen Mutschall aka JamX and Dominik de Leon aka De Leon. The dynamic duo will both be gracing the decks in Vancouver for their first ever appearance. Jamx and De Leon are now two of Germany's biggest DJs. Their production skills are up there with the world's best, collaborating with the likes of DJ Tiesto and Push. You can now hear DuMonde's hard techno trance sound across the entire globe, as their records hit the top 40 in dozens of leading countries. This entered the top 10 Dance Charts in Germany, and hit dozens of compilations, including "Gatecrasher Wet", "Clubber's Guide", and "Euphoria". It was undoubtedly the tune that put DuMonde on the map. Now, with every major club in the U.K after them, JamX and De Leon are set to develop their DJ reputations there, to the same level as it is in Germany. So forget about the past and listen to the future - "God Music" continues the story of DuMonde, which definitely can't be anything but successful. Johan Gielen - (http://www.johangielen.com) Belgium Nobody could have expected in the eighties that Johan Gielen would become a world famous DJ fifteen years after his first appearance behind the turntables. At this very moment the Belgium born Gielen rules almost every dance floor on the planet and as a producer he has already produced several classics. Although his professional career started many years ago, 2002 has been a year he will never forget. First of all the long awaited artist album of Svenson & Gielen saw daylight, but 2002 also showed a remarkable grow of Johan`s popularity as a DJ. Be prepared once again as he graces the decks of Vancouver. Future Breeze aka Dj Krid P - (Synthetic Compulsion - www.futurebreeze.de) Germany Future Breeze are the producers Markus Boehme and Martin Hensing, both from Essen. They began making music a long time ago, they started making music with the legendary home computer C-64. Directly after they finished school, they decided to make their music creations sound more professional. In 1994 they released their music under the name "Synthetic Compulsion". Not much later they released "Read My Lips" under the name Future Breeze, which became their first big hit. It stayed on the German dance-charts for 10 weeks. A successful tour in Germany followed, also the singles "Why Don't You Dance Me" and "Keep the Fire Burnin" was successful. They have several great hits such as "Temple of Dreams", "Ocean of Eternity", and several other great hits that also landed them on the global charts. Shy Brothers (International Artist Management/ X-Clusive) - Germany Masters of the turn tables, Mike Shir & Benjamin Shir aka the Shy Brothres started experimenting at an early age and became a cutting edge dj team. Their undying passion for music and their well built experience have been key in producing their first tracks. These two brothers have previously performed as resident dj's in various well established techno-trance clubs and events. Recently, Shy Brothers have been making their marks all around North America. She's become a prime mover, the prime female mover in fact, on the hardcore, jungle and drum'n'bass scenes that have shaped the last ten years of her and countless other lives. Simultaneously a label owner, producer, recording artist and world-renowned DJ, East London's Charissa Saverio, aka DJ Rap stands alongside the likes of DJs Hype, Grooverider and LTJ Bukem as one of the few, and only female, pioneers of drum and bass. Get ready to jump up and dance to her thumping beats. Sharaz (941 Electro Records - www.dropthatbass.com) - Since 1997, Sharaz has been at the helm of one of the most diverse domestic breaks/electronic labels around. In the four years since the label’s inception, Sharaz has released over 27 records, and five compact discs. Sharaz has provided remixes for other imprints such as Tommy Boy Records, POD Music, Kaleidoscope, Xquizit records and a few others. A literal darling of mixshow radio, 941’s tracks have been featured on XM Satellite Radio, DirecTV satellite, plus countless FM mixshows throughout North America and beyond. Although not a nu-school artist, Sharaz’s Switched was highly charted by the likes of the Plump DJs, Way Out West and Hyper just to name a few. More recently, Sharaz's track "Madagascar" was rated #18 in DMX's "Trends". His one-off house remix of Jus Chris's "Cut'n & Scratch'n" was immediately picked up by Promo Only. During the past 24 months, Sharaz has provided five big original tracks or remixes to radio. Although the U.K. born dance genre has enjoyed stateside success since its emergence in the early 90s. Dave Minner (AK 1200), is one of only a handful of American based DJs to pose any challenge to the domination of their British counterparts. nice one! is it just me or do shy brothers and uh oh really know how to pump the sound right? i thought the main room sound at their last one at riverside was off the hook! i have definetly heard very good things about the sound at fusion dreams as well
