drive along w 4th ave past alma until you hit the turn off for marine before 4th starts to climb...drive down marine to the beaches. drive along past the beaches, past the end of spanish banks until that road starts to climb with trees on both sides. you'll see acadia beach parking lot (closed) on right hand side, ignore it and keep going. near the top of the hill you'll suddenly come to an intersection with East Mall with some ubc campus buildings dead ahead, the trail to tower is right there....look for a big circa sticker on a pole just before or right at the spot . there is NO parking nearby, so you'll have to drive on to campus and find a spot there, can be tricky. do not hang around at the top of the trail or try to park along that road. bring a flashlight.
see you all there. for those coming by bus, the trail starts just past the chan centre, take the ubc bus and consult one of the maps around the sub building....oh, and do us all a favour and make "number two" before you leave home (manos i'm looking in your direction) |
