[Sep 28][Van] Street March, Rally & Party
Stopwar.ca & Wickedhouseparty.org fire up the decks for peace
September 28th, 2003: Wickedhouseparty & Stopwar.ca will be hosting a rally/march starting at the Vancouver Art Gallery at 11:00am. The pretexts for the war, WMD are nowhere to be found. The Iraqi people are very clear that they want to run their own affairs, not have G7 nations dicate their policy and appoint political leaders. Iraq has just been opened up to foreign investment in nearly all sectors of the economy - it's a bargain basement sale to friends of the "coalition of the willing" in the Iraqi economy. End the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan - Wickedhouseparty will be throwing down some music before and after the march. DJs Nate D, Sir K & Jules Verdict will be out to represent in full effect. Stopwar estimates 3000-5000 people - so get ready to show that the bombs that should be dropped are cut to wax, not dropped out of a plane! Info: Stopwar, Wickedhouseparty |

All the same good on you for helping out. |

If Stopwar.ca is 160 different organizations it seems that all those other organizations are keeping their name out of it, so I suggest either type out all the organisations involved including WHP or just simply Stopwar.ca presents

u alk about the occupations of Iraq and afghanistan well iraq I can see but Afghanistan is not an occupation by the US it was a consorted NATO and UN effort to weed out a terrorist supporting government regime and also Afghans are now mainly in control the US is still there sure mopping up alquada and Talliban remnants but lets not forget Pakistan UK Canada who just sent a large number of troops AKA peace keepers into the country remember the Afghan war was supported by the UN the Security Council and NATO so how can u call it a occupation?? just beacause there are US military personell there does not make it an occupation otherwise may as well consider Germany occupied...

Kris, I have tried to mind the gap that you have put between you and this scene, 'cause I know your heart is in the right place, but in all fairness you have a disgustingly serious issue for taking credit for shit you have no iota in creating.
I HAVE NOT ONCE SEEN YOU AT ANY OF THE STOPWAR.CA MEETINGS EVER! And I've been going to them regularly for the last 6 months. Come out this Wednesday to the Maritime Labour Centre at 7:30 pm to prove me wrong. I think it's great you are here to help, but at most you are part of the coalition of groups, in no way is WHP more active then the labour unions, or the rabble rousers that come out multiple times a month and pour their hearts out to get these things organized. It should state in your header "STOPWAR.CA presents" with maybe "music provided by WHP + guests" later in the body of the promo. It really urks me to see you misrepresenting this event, and speaking of the event you could of atleast played some tunes that were slightly less party-kid and had a message other than "OMG let's go kill brain cells, PLUR!" For example, Adam Freeland's "We want your soul" would have been perfect for the event, SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT DROPPING SUCH MADNESS! (some reggae wouldn't have hurt either) I conclude my spiel in saying, give credit where credit is due man, I am not here to hound you like you think most people are so please take this to heart for future reference if you appreciated me sticking up for you in the past. Kind Regards, Mark Paul |
