not everyone is about the money.
actually i could care less about arguing over this... so forget it... i'm going cuz it's my b-day, and cuz krusha spins a dope set... but the line up seems a little too good for a spanish party, haha... i wouldn't be too shocked if the party ended up being a no-go... |

As for one of the replies to breaking even for fundraisers, we are in need of more support, seriously. Our cause is not for the money, but for an actual fundraiser.
This party WILL go off. The problem we have fun into is that certain venues have caused a lot of problems for us and we are sorry for that. If we MUST postpone the party *which we will try not to at our best* we will post here on our website, here on F&K.com, XTCity.com, Teamhardcore.com and LoungeX.com And to be honest, there is a possibility that this party may NOT go off @ the Spanish, but at another venue which may not be our choice under any circumstances due to complications. So PLEASE! Keep checking our website, forums and Team Hardcore.com for further updates incase something happens. Speaking of F & K, XTCity.com and LoungeX members for a discount, if you come in groups of 10, there will be "1" *maybe even 2 :P* free entrances. Or maybe some type of perk for you guys/gals. Not that we're trying to be cheap, but we REALLY NEED THE SUPPORT!!! E-mail us @ [email protected] or contact me directly on ICQ @ 20084676 So please! Support us @ Terminal Velocity on Friday, September the 14, 2001! Thanks for ALL your support and hope to see ALL of you there :D P.S. If its your birthday, u can get in @ the door 1/2 price and your birthday will be announced at the party by our MC, Marky Mark [Exert] ~L7~ ~Terminal Velocity~ ~20084676~ bcrdukes |

i'm not saying you're out for money, i'm sure your ideas are quite admirable.
all i'm saying is that fundraisers usually don't make money, first time promoters make money even rarer, and parties with no out of town headliner make money even more rarely. (unless of course you're uh-oh, who i respect completely for thier amazing ability to advertise and get an overwhelming response. uh-oh is phenominal at advertising.) im sure you're working hard and i hope everything works out, but raves are not good ideas for fundraising, and i hope you arent stuck with a huge bill to pay off when this is done, like so many small parties end up with nowadays. r. |

I would hardly say $15 is to expensive considering the talent coming in.
Sometimes people take our locals for granted. People also forget regardless of the fact that Spanish is smaller than other venues, it still needs to be paid for. Plus it's a fundraiser. |

question??? wut are we raising money for??? i think if you include that you could prolly get more ppl to go.. but like if one doesn't get posted welll... i'll leave that to you guys to decide? Good point. If you went to our website, instead of having us post it on a public forum, you would be much more informed and having us seem strange because this if not just a regular fundraiser party. Like I said, we are trying our best and this party is now 100% CONFIRMED. True that the ticket prices may be a bit outrageous, but in reality, being a promoter isn't easy. You have to deal with the amount of tickets you sell, finances, venue owners and DJs. In reallity, everything adds up, and in the end, you HAVE NO CHOICE but to keep your ticket prices as low as possible. On a personal basis, I would NOT pay $15 for a 5-1am party anymore. Before, back in 2000, I would've, but now that the scene is slowly beginning to die, everybody expects quality at a low price. So yes, I understand those of you who would not pay $15 to come to a show like Terminal Velocity. Its totally understandable because I feel the same way too, but like I said, being a promoter isn't easy. You have to keep your customers happy and at the same time, have them pay enough so you can at least break even, which in our case, is not that, where we need as much support as possible. Anyways, please come and support us by coming to Terminal Velocity. We are trying our best to keep tickets as low as possible, but this is a fundraiser at the same time, and as mentioned above, visit our website for further details. Thanks for all your support and hope to see you @ Terminal Velocity. ~L7~ Terminal Velocity~ 20084676 bcrdukes |

And on a personal basis, I think you're right about raves not being a good source of income for fundraisers. I guess we did learn the hard way, but learning the hard way can sometimes only be the only way. And true, we have no out-of-town headliners. All these DJs have shown their support by playing for free at this party. And to answer your question as for being affiliated with Uh-Oh! No, we are no way affiliated with Uh-Oh! even though we are good friends with members of their group. And yes, they are phenominal at promoting, in reference to your quote. Anyways, again, thanks for your positive comments. We really appreciate them. We hope to have your support and hope to see you @ Terminal Velocity! ~L7~ ~Terminal Velocity~ 20084676 bcrdukes |

They're All Locals
"For the talent comming out, $15 bux is way to expensive. Sorry, I have seen better dj's for a lot less.
No offence to the dj's. But... There all locals. " Ninjaone.... You're not saying much for yourself... We have some kickass locals in this scene. Are you inferring that Vancouver doesn't have any talent? Are you saying that DJs who live in Vancouver arent worth their time? I cringe when people say things that dis their own local scene. Vancouver has some world-class locals, and some of them are on that bill. They're playing for free because it's a fundraiser, not so bcr can take home the $$. |
