"I can’t believe it’s October already!" We are kicking off the month’s events with a benefit happening this Grande Wednesday (October 3) at Sonar 66 Water St. We are helping to raise money for an organization called Hip Hop For Hunger who helps those in need of food in our lower mainland area. All types of Caribbean food & flavours (scroll below for exact menu), where all the proceeds will go to this worthy cause. Come early and eat at Sonar this night.



International Fridays at Wettbar (1320 Richards St.) is starting a brand new theme this Friday October 5 and will continue every first Friday of the month. The first Friday of every month will be designated “ladies night”, which means all ladies get into club with “no line up” (subject to capacity). We will do our best to accomplish this, but it will be the first run so have patience. We will also have special prizes and surprises just for the ladies.

We are helping to raise money for a very worthy benefit called, “Hip Hop For Hunger”. Hip Hop For Hunger is a non-profit company that supplies food to those that need it. This function will help raise money for an X-Mas dinner that they will be putting on. The official menu has been set; Chicken Curry Combo $6, BBQ Chicken Combo $6, Jerk Chicken Combo $7, Chicken Roti Combo $6, Sautéed Vegetarian Combo $6, Vegetarian Roti Combo $6. Hungry yet? Come on down and support a worthy cause. DJs Physik, GMAN, and Wax. Upstairs is special guest DJ Laurent St. Laurent from Montreal who you may remember as Larry who was involved with the first Summer Love, A3 and more.

GMAN & Rizk, Universal Urban, and DEF JAM team up to bring you this stellar event…the Official Ja Rule release. This album is sure to be off the hook as it has already brought us such club bangers as “I’m Real RMX”, and “Living It Up”. Tons of prizes & CD giveaways all night long.

The big dog from Yonkers, NY returns with more bite than bark, "The Great Depression" is in stores September 25. Guests on the album include Faith Evans, Mysonne, Drag-On, and Stephanie Mills. Tons of Def Jam CD giveaways all night long.

One half of the legendary hip-hop duo EPMD, Erick Sermon was also among the genre's most prominent producers. Sermon -- a.k.a. E Double, the Green-Eyed Bandit and MC Grand Royal -- teamed with rapper Parrish Smith in 1986 to form EPMD, an acronym for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars”.
