how many parties have you thrown????
Hey i'm glad to see all the f-n-k support....however we do appear to have a few negative party kids, who wanna go out of their way to bring down those who wanna do something for the scene...inkster i don't know what your problem is with h2o, but i do know a few things having put 5 years of my life into..never ever have i been to a good 5 dollar party...if your payin 5 bucks to go to an event that's great...but expect a 5 dollar party...and 5 dollar dj's.......the fact is that we are producing a show featuring some of vancouver's most respected dj's you normally pay way more to see all the dj's we have....furthermore if you had ever taken the time, energy, and money to throw a party you might understand the hard work it takes to throw a party.
2. Who said that this party won't go all night....what determines the end of our show will be the people there. if we have a great crowd that's loving the show...why would we stop....the only way i'm shutting this party down is if i have no choice....which to any self respecting raver is more than fair....we're not here tryin to make a small fortune off of ravers...we're here to give them a night they can walk away from and say "wow that was fuckin awesome" that's why we're throwin this...not to make huge $$$$. 3. As for your bright idea for no security....buddy where are you from....would you feel safe at a party knowing that the guy next to you could shank you....I'd much rather deal with a little security and have the knowledge that I will be safe as opposed to anything else. 4. For the record we are selling tickets through friends...the only reason you didn't know that is cause your too misinformed to ask...you'd rather just blindly bash all the hard work the people of h2o are doing. 5. If you wanna hear a minimal techno dj..throw your own party and book one. 6. And this is the most ignorant thing you said....give free drugs at the door......well there is only two reasons why you'd say something like that...either your too broke to pay for your drugs(which is probably why you want a 5 dollar party) or you believe that we as promotors should encourage drug use..I'm not sayin that i've never done drugs or that i'm against them, but it's not my responsibility as a promoter to get you high....my job is to provide the people a great party in a safe venue. You wanna get high great..but don't count on me or any other promoter to do that for you. I'm taking a don't ask don't tell approach to drug use at my party.....I'm here to make sure the people at my party are having a good time with or without drugs. Inkster i've been to at least 20 parties straight and had the time of my life...how about you???? and for the record if you don't wanna come to my show that's cool...but why bash it and try so hard to ruin it for all the others who wanna have a good time. Maybe you should try and appreciate the things all promoters do ....if it were not for us who would throw these events......you????? Last edited by Mr.Sinister; Oct 31, 01 at 12:38 AM. |

shut up 'fore i smack your mama...
Hello inkster,
thunderfunk here.logged on my friend Zades' account. i just wanted to say that all your bad vibes suck. you need to smoke more weed, to mellow out. Its easy for you to criticize, hide behind a handle, and bad mouth those who put out the effort, to throw a real experience. Anyways, I live at 1610 E. 11th in Van, with a free ticket for you, to my friends party, so if you have the balls to come see me in person and let me know what you think. then it's yours. If not. you suck. and you always will. peace. Angus 604.979.9129. PS im also one of the best ever. free drugs rule. |

My impression
I think ][nk was referring to his definition of Old Skool...
It's nice to try and bring back a taste of the old skool but realistically he depicted the old scene quite well..... I think h20 is trying to emphasize on the whole vibe thing and throw a party where the intimacy is noticeable. Nothing wrong with having a vision.... I know you'll organize something good Zade. Keep on truckin foo =) |

How does that benefit the scene? Please, do tell. I'd like to hear how you think you're making a difference. Quote:

B-Bonez, Thunderfunk, Global vs. Boog-ah-lee. Aside from Form & Kaos and Precise (who are incredibly played out and really not nothing to spend 15 bucks on when you could see them both for 5...) are about all the headliners you have. As for the rest... who the fuck are they? Please do tell me how you can justify charging 15 bucks for this party with a lineup full of no names. Quote:
I know what it's like. It is hard work... but, only if you put actual work into it. Otherwise, it follows a fairly basic formula. Get venue. Get djs. Get lights. Sell tickets. Quote:
So... what are the hours of operation for your party? All night or 6-2? You don't really seem to clarify it either way. Quote:
Chop your prices down then. 15 bucks is a lot for two headliners that are locals. Quote:
Christ... Quote:
I'd rather only have people there that I knew weren't fucking tools. Have you ever thought about only selling tickets to people that you can trust, instead of to the lowest common denominator of society? Quote:
Then, and only then, can you bring back "the old vibe". Quote:
wtf is an "old vibe" anyways? Quote:
Quote:
Consider free drugs at the door a gift. Not a commodity. Quote:
And who said it was mandatory to do such drugs? Quote:
How fucking boring is that. When I have kids and I need someone to look after them for a night, I'll send them to one of your raves. It'd probably be more dull, and thusly safer, than any number of day cares. Quote:

Probably been to about 30 parties sober. Which is approximately 50% of the ones I've gone too in my life. Quote:
If I "ruin" this show for anyone, it's because I let them know how big of a chump they are for thinking that it's quality. Quote:
Why should I appreciate an over priced, unoriginal, Mc Rave that has nothing to offer anyone except cliches? You're severely over-estimating your importance. Quote:
Or at least dozens of other people who throw good shows. ][nkster |

Re: I'm not worth $15
Quote:
And don't you often play there? :) Like I said... it's quite easy to see you two for cheaper prices, so you're hardly justification for 15 bucks. Umm... know what I mean? ][nkster |

Free by choice though...
And I make it a habit not to play every week...usually every 2-3 weeks =)
There is one point I could make and this refers to those who are of age. Not everyone is allowed into the 19+ clubs. The club is for those who don't necessarily want to pop e on a weeknight and the small shows are for those who can't make it into the club. If you're over 19 you enjoy our tunes for free but if you're under 19 you have to pay. Kind of strange how it works out. The last show we played was in Sept and lately things have slowed down significantly. Personally, when playing small parties, I prefer the island parties, but right now they're struggling with venues. We just continue the club to give people a place to chill and listen to good beats. The trick to it all is not to overplay ourselves. I don't want to be viewed as boring and routine. |

alright inkster so your not happy with my party and the way i go about doing things...that's cool..you have every right to your opinion...and i'm also sure you probably could throw a party and charge no money for it....but I myself don't wanna throw one party...the money made from this party is not going to be put into my pocket for the pure purpose of making money....we wanna contiune throwing parties.....we don't wanna become some big massive production company..we wanna be known as the one production company that gives people a good quality show for a fair price.....our ticket prices are the way they are just so we can cover costs..thus being able to do another party....i'm sure you know this....and if we did make any money we would simply use it to invest in better dj's.....what are we doing for the scene you ask....we're trying to do something positive...how are you helping by being so critical....maybe my party won't sell out...but everyone there will have a good time....otherwise why bother......maybe you feel that the dj's we have are played out....but each one is a close friend of mine....you don't like it....fine....your choice but why resort to petty name calling and slander...dude if you were throwing a party...i wouldn't go around dissin it.....if i didn't like the dj's or the timing of the party....rather then jump and scream and make a big issue out of it...i would just not go.....but i sure as hell would not discourage anyone else from going.....because i know that the promoters worked real hard putting it together....part of the reason why the scene is in such a downward spiral right now is because of the lack of support for events..people like you inkster are the ones whose negative attitudes bring down what little is left....I just wanna do something positive where people come in to our party and leave feeling like they had a good time.....everyone who comes out and supports this event will see what i'm talking about...

Mysterious!!
Lots of rave critics eh??!!
All I can say is that we are not in Europe. So we shouldn't all have such high standards. I think this party will be good. I mean for $15 bucks how can u go wrong!!! Even though u never heard of some of these DJs, doesn't mean it will suk. U gotta go with an open mind and have a good time!!! I think H2O will put all they got into this party, and it will be a good time!!! :D: |
