Summer 2002 I need help with a rave im going to do.

It will be underground cuz i have bare minimum for money.


If someone can tell me where i can get cheap sound, mixer, decks.

I have a location planned out for the event, I would do it Sooner but the location is outside.

We will be showcasing primary genres.

Live pa DJ (hard Acid techno 400bpm)
breaks
trance (goa, psy, uplifting and tech)
tech house
dnb/jungle
whoops forgot to mention.... as a final genre.. the hardest hardcore gabber you will ever hear.


what i'll need is volunteers to help me out with this.

I know im not the best person in the rave scene, as a matter a fact i know a lot of you hate me.

Im not doing this for the money, Im doing this because I want to see this challenge through.

asking for help to do sound is quite common, and smart. Specially when you consider the fact you can rent pa systems from people locally for a fraction of the price it costs to rent it from master plan.

doing something that goes from 9pm - 2 am is not very hard.

Im sure i could do it, if venues werent expensive.

I have a friend that has helped out at some massives in ON

He has offered to help me.

I dont "diss" other promoter companies, I simply say that there is a lot more talent out rather than your usual dj's.

on the lineup you will see not one dj that look familiar.

all dj's will kick serious ass and will be an unfamiliar face.

I have 2 venues to chose from, one in vancouver or a second one.. a bigger one in victoria.


I think we're going to do the one in victoria so we dont get all the barstars out. they can stay in their bars.

Word of advice though, stick to van.

The victoria crowd is *very* cliquey. They might not take well to someone throwing a party in their town who's not from their town.

As well, there are hella barstars in the Vic scene. But, they're the likeable sort.

I was thinking of doing it in van too.

just to lower the costs of ferry trips.


Since it will be outside I can get a great venue outside
and since its summer it well be nicely cool in the night time.

I find this rather funny because I have been to parties & club nights on the island...and you will find barstars everywhere. Secondly, good luck because Dizzy throws the BEST island summer parties...you're going to have strict competition...and I doubt you'll gain much help unless you change your attitude towards people who throw/help throw parties here in Van. You're a cool guy to me, don't get me wrong, but I had to get this off my chest. GOOD LUCK HUN! :)

but then that would be bad... Because look at all these parties. You have dj's that are familiar faces that are just going to play the same set that they did at a party 2 weeks before.

At tribeca on tuesday, Right after Jamie's set, I heard a breaks dj that made me shit my pants, I've never seen that many people dance at tribeca. His first mix i had to shake his hand because he just blew me and my friend out of the water, aside from his mixing, the tracklist he played was sooooooooo good, he picked out the right tracks to make the people dance.
that guy is probably the best vancouver dj i've ever heard.
He told me he fucked up on a couple of tracks, I heard one. but the other times they must've been really quiet screw ups cuz Eric and I didnt notice it.

Kudos to jerry for playing a fantastic set
10 out of 10 for him


I wanna get that guy to play.
