From the creators of the International Music Festival (IMF) and Dooms Night, Solid Corporation is proud present SOLID NYE 2005 "the Masquerade Massive" at the Pacific Coliseum (on the Pacific National Exhibition grounds). The event will be featured in 4 areas with world class artists surrounded with Vancouver’s most sought out locals. The production of the lights, sound, and visuals at this event will be unbelievable. On top, there will be many attractions at this event. This will be the biggest masquerade party ever to hit Western Canada. So be prepared for one unforgettable evening as Solid Corporation will not disappoint. Let the countdown begin! AREA ONE (Trance, Hard Dance, Techno) BT - Live Laptop Symphony (www.btmusic.com) - USA Initially known as the pioneer of trance music, BT has arrived as one of the most cutting- edge artists and producers for a multitude of musical styles. Whether he's crafting perfect pop hooks with *NSYNC, composing intricate scores with eighty-piece orchestras for films like The Fast and the Furious, collaborating with Sting on a track from his forthcoming album, or remixing emotional and languid epics for Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Madonna or Seal, BT consistently balances creative and memorable songwriting, sonic innovation, and the latest technology for a cutting-edge, yet organic sound. CJ Stone (www.cjstone.com) - Germany Beside his activity as DJ, CJ’s interest is producing. Subsequently, he collected sufficient ideas and experiences presenting, and how a good dance track has to sound. That was quick till his singles "Infinity / Shining star / Into the Sea", and others twere in the box - a small milestone in the history of Dance Music. Tiesto, Quicksilver, Brooklyn Bounce, Divine Inspiration, Ace of Base, Ian Van Dahl are only some of many artists who remixed their titles by CJ Stone! Besides this, CJ Stone brought his side projects such as Bad Habit Boys "Weekend" & "Rock Ya" into the top 10 of the most important charts and produced hit singles, such as Voodoo & Serano’s "Blood Is Pumpin" (#17 UK), or DJ Sammy "You’re My Angel/Golden Child/Life Is Just A Game" and others. Let’s welcome the sounds of CJ Stone. Kai Tracid (www.kaitracid.de) - Germany Tracid is the contraction of Trance and Acid. Trance is his style and Acid his roots. In his beginning, Kai Tracid used many different other artist's names like for example Formic Acid, W.O.W. or Mac Acid, which were the Acid and Hard Trance sides of Kai MacDonald (in 1995) and it seems he began to use Kai Tracid in 1997. Of course he also produced Trance releases not only as Kai Tracid but under other names such as Arrow, The Attractor and Computer Controlled. Having played huge massives around the globe, his set is not to be missed! Let us welcome his first appearence ever in Vancouver! Get ready for Trance and Acid! Shy Brothers (www.shybrothers.com) After breaking many European dance charts with the Club Smashing hit “Nemesis” the Shy Brothers are coming out with the follow up Single “The Lost Love” coming out early 2005. For more info about the Shy Brothers, please visit there new revamp website at website. Remember to check out the brothers set at our very own 2005 new years masquerade. “Expect the Unexpected” versus Jimmy Chou (Solid Corp.) vs Tazix (Twisted) As the year comes to an end, we have put two of Vancouver's most sought out trance locals together on one stage. Jimmy Chou has proven to be one of the top local trance performers in Vancouver. Tazix has established himself in the scene for awhile time now. This will be a memorable set as the two battle it out on the decks for the first time ever. So don't miss out! Vlado (Solid Corp) vs Mirka Cerny (Boomtown / Driven) AREA TWO (Breaks, DnB and Jungle) hosted by super stan Z-Trip (www.djztrip.com) - USA His style has been described as "oldskool meets newskool, classic rock and roll meets underground hip hop…the right way, and alternative music meets an even bigger alternative." He can turn two totally disparate musical elements into a two-headed lovechild, separated at birth. This Los Angeles transplant by way of Phoenix AZ, is none other than Z-TRIP, a veteran DJ and producer. Who has become something of a live phenomenon traveling the globe spinning for all types of crowds ranging from 450,000-plus capacity crowds opening for the Rolling Stones at SARSTOCK, 60,000 at rock arenas to numerous headlining sold out clubs, concerts and raves. Z-TRIP is known for his ability to always rock the party the hardest… hands down. While others tend to just play music, Z-TRIP does the opposite. Not only does this virtuoso know how to read and work the crowd into a frenzy, but also how to mix the music in a way they’ve never heard before, the whole time incorporating some very technical scratching and effects as well. Z-TRIP is also known for being a passionate "digger" for music. He collects some of the rarest breaks and beats he can find, to the most overlooked common tracks you wouldn’t expect to hear in a DJ set. One thing Z-TRIP is known for is having extremely deep record crates. His knowledge of music gives him a style that encompasses everything from dancehall to funk to hip-hop to drum 'n' bass to house to techno to rock, and everything in between. Z-Trip is one of a kind. His amazing style of blending seemingly opposing music into one seamless mind-blowing performance has been copied by many, but only the original can pull it off LIVE! versus Omega Image (Solid Corp. / fnk.ca / UnconsciousBros) versus Ryan Ross (DA / Exhale / Unconscious Bros) Finally, two of Vancouver's most sought after breaks dj's combine! After rocking the floor at Dooms Night, Omega is back once again this time with close friend and fellow master of funk Ryan Ross. Ryan brings to the decks flawless mixing, scratching, and last but not least unquestionable trumpet skills! Get ready Vancouver as these two guarantee to cook up a set that will leave you begging for more. Soma feat. guitarist Mishka1ne (Solid Corp / Scratchspin.co.uk / www.djsoma.ca) Solid resident and local party rocker Soma is going head to head with acclaimed guitarist Mishka1ne. This debut of the duos current project will take thing up a notch, bringing live elements and unpredictable sounds to the dance floor. A mash up of thunderous basslines and twisted metal is just around the corner so be sure to check this sound. Wood (Boomtown) Harp (Unconscious Bros) Johnny ill (Solid Corp / DA) K-pyrde vs Mr. Clean (Uh-Oh! / War and Peace) Skip Ez (Silverwater / OnDeck) AREA THREE (House/Funk/Progressive) hosted by www.clubvibes.com Miss Kutin* - (www.misskutin.com) - Toronto / Van With a mixed music background, miss kutin* first started spinning mostly Progressive Trance and UK Hard House in beginning of 2000. In late 2001, her taste of genres were displaced by 2-Step Garage aka UK Garage with sub-genres such as vocal, 4x4’s, MC-based, and some Speed Garage, which composite sets with joyful melody, garage sound and various baselines. She also casually experiences soulful Garage House aka US Garage and D&B. She has spun in Canada (bi-coastal), US, and Taiwan. Be prepared for a funky set as she graces decks of Vancouver. Dj Venus (www.inhouseproductions.net) - USA Venus has been shake'n the floor and sharing the spotlight with such talent as Donald Glaude, Bad Boy Bill, Richard "Humpty" Vission and club Divas: Irene, Mea and Miss Honey Dijon. A true Glamour Queen, this hottie will make you groove with a bass heavy mix of Funky Bangin House & Breaks. With crazy energy behind the decks and skills to match! Locals who want to play at this massive - please contact me asap ([email protected]) or PM. We are still fine tuning our local lineup and would love to get some fresh local acts at our NYE show. Maybe you guys can bring me your DEMO to dooms night too. Look for me or jimbo as we'll be wandering around.
cheers. |
