buddy, everyone knows the 4th stage is going to be dead all nite. didnt it get shut it down one time at pne cuz it didnt get any attention? why waist the money when u can put more effort into another room. i have an education thank you very much. oh and no i dont have my ticket, nor will i be buying one. |

i'm not too concerned if they shut down the 4th room, sure i bring my records out for nothing but its a $5.00 cab ride back home. Plus i get to meet djs and get some records signed.
I didnt pay any money, I wont complain. Got 2 other gigs in may. Both playing techno. |

you realize that fnk alone will bring at least 10 people to the 4th stage for him...and that's a good fuckin sized crowd for 4th stage. plus big sweaty marty....who could resist not staring at his glistening body while workin the tables? |

The 4th stage is there to display the new talent in Vancouver...wether it be good dj's, or bad. Its essentially smoke pit entertainment music... ive seen the 4th room crowds grow to over 35-40 people... thats pretty good considering people are "too busy" smoking. For most djs its an opportunity to play, and believe it or not some get noticed cause of it (Wether it be good or bad aswell). I personally see it as "getting used" to playing live and with a pretty pumpin system, every dj gets the jitters their first track into the set, its perfect practice to make yourself get rid of those damn jitters. As for complaining about the 4th stage... ive played to both decently large crowds and empty crowds at one point, in the end its about the music, the love for it, its fun just knowing you got booked because in the end you can remember the good times of the party, and also say "I have spun at this party"... so spending an extra 2-4 hundred dollars isnt that big of a loss (considering the 4th stage doesnt consist anymore than 2 vertigo lights, a shimmer light, maybe some truss, scaffolding, decks +mixer, monitor 'in some occasions; which is good cause people need to polish their mixing skills with JUST their headphones and ears', 2 Bassbins and 2 hightops.) Believe it or not, its as good as or MAYBE better than any underground raves LATELY. People arent going there for the 4th stage... so quit your bitching, suck it up and party!

what do you mean ".....what a disgrace. i feel sorry for the dj's who get shoved into that shit of a room. solid stop trying to make more money by doing that shit...."
how are they "making" more money by doing that paying for 10 local DJ's to play on a stage in the same building as ICEY and BK...... wouldn't they be losing money because this stage sucks so bad apparently so it wont attract the people which means stan will have paid people for nothing really....... so wouldn't this make him losing money??? why doesn't he just scrap the whole 4th room to make money......... Look if you dont go to 4th room for atleast some time something is wrong because we gotta support our locals you know, after all they are the next big things and who knows maybe u will be partying at that stage with a future headliner dj..... PPS i do go there and it isn't to smoke. Quote:

I don't see playing the 4th stage as being shitty. Would you complain if you were a bench warmer for the Canucks? You're there right? The party is going to be sick (BK is going to rock it! Icey i've been dying to see and I haven't seen Josh the Funk1 in YEARS) and i'm more than happy to be a contributing part of it. I guess it's really up to Solid Corp to get their marketing out to the right party kinda people. But you're all right, the 4th stage needs some tuning.. |

It doesn't matter if it's hurting it's a place to start and I'm pretty sure a lot of people would actually be happy to take up an opportunity like that. So instead of bashing the company and saying that it's shit why don't you take some time and appreciate the upcoming talent that we have in this scene? Like some have said they are the future faces that you will be seeing at raves. Look at all the second room and third room locals they've all spent their time spinning at these "underground" parties and now look where they are at. I think the fourth stage is an excellent opportunity for DJ's to get their recognition. Even though it's not much it's still somewhere for them to start. Correct me if I'm wrong but who are the same Trance DJ's? Besides the local residents of the company I don't see any same trance headliner coming to town. Usually resident DJ's play at their own parties. The only person who has been here in the main room is BK. Other than that JK Walker, Marcos and Kyau vs Albert will all be making their first ever appearences in Vancouver. That's pretty fresh if you ask me. Ill fully agree on that even tho i dont attend the 4th room to often , sure ill throw a groove here and there on my way outside but what u r sayin about the talent tryin to show themselves , is 100% tru!! |

actually, for the past 4 years.. I've only played at underground shows.
Their scene is actually doing quite well without the advertising.. hence the term underground. None the less.. I cant wait to play an insane trance set for everyone. |
