man, this was one of the best parties last year... and I have been to many a parties during my time... this is not just some marketing ploy. If you want to check out what a rave/party was like back in the day, this is your chance... ask anyone who went last year... there were people from all corners of the scene and from all the various eras, from the early 90s up until today at last year's party... it was like a total reunion and a "who's who" of the party scene of today and yesteryear...

more details to come very soon. I hope some of you, specially those new to the scene (and by new I mean less than 3-4 years) get to come and check out what Vancouver CAN pull off given the right setting...

/\ did you hear about it last year? We had around 600 people! and the space was just crazy! wait until you see this year's setup!

This is our fourth all nighter since 2001 (Fred gets Cheeky - 2001, Fred Gets Cheekier : The Makeour Sessions - 2002, Gong Show - 2004) and they have all gone off... in fact, the party seems to go off more with each party. The Fred crew had been throwing parties since the mid-90s, and since half of Fred is part of the Cheeky crew, we decided to join forces, and the rest was history. Total underground vibe, the way a rave should be.

I cannot rave about these enough... but the best testimonial is from those who attended. Just find anyone and ask them what they thought of Fred Gets Cheeky or Gong Show... :-)

ppcock: don't worry, there will definately be some techno; how could there not be with littlejon (of SoundProof/KCUF UOY fame) and Rev (one of this city prime techno lovers)... Although, it would be as hard as a Soundproof party ;-)

Musically there is going to be something for everyone:

• Phil Western (live PA): Phil is going to do a techno-proggy live PA set. He did that at SoundWave last year and ROCKED the party. Phil has been producing for about 10 years and DJing since the beginning of the Vancouver rave scene in the early 90s.
• littlejon (KCUF UOY/Soundproof) vs. Rev (PH-1): these guys are gonna drop some funky techno!
• Altered Egos (Andy Clockwork vs. Expo): normally, these guys play house. BUT as Altered Egos, they play some sick sick breaks... a sound so different that their regular music that they had to use an "altered ego"
• Team * (Big Trouble): yes! this ain't no Team Trainwreck. This is Team Techno (actaully we have not decided our final name for this yet). Expect the unexpected.
• Tantra (Intimate): tech-prog/breaks
• Mack Hardy (Intimate): funky house/breaks
• Colin Cox (Loaded) vs. Scott Audio (Club/Passion): progressive
• Crown Vic (Intimate) w/ Ill-esha on da mic: funky house/breaks
• Spank (Gong Show): progressive/electro-prog

so there you have it! ;-)
