firstly, when we were designing the trance-gate flyer, and recieving the information about it, we were AMAZED at the dj line-up and the heart that the promoters put into this party.

When we first met these guys, they told us that they wanted to donate to the scene. If you guys can't tell me that see'ing Marco V, DJ Jurgen, AND DJ Morgan under the same roof for only $28 isn't a huge donation... you had better leave the scene now. Secondly, riverside is one of the tightest venues when it comes down to "rave-vibe." The line-up alone could sell out PLAZA with 2 speakers and a strobe light. Tickets are going to be vapor within the first week.

These guys are trying their best to throw down a plaza quality part for a mitchell island price. I'm coming right out when i say this. We were hired to design for them. but NOT promote for them. and all i can say is, this party is going to be seriously amazing. i'm voting this will be the BEST riverside party of the millenium.

You guys discuss and beg for quality fresh dj's... here you go. you plead, cry and ask for cheaper ticket prices.. here you go. you want a second room with solid Breakz dj's.... here you go. you guys want a truly pure vibe, available at your finger tips.... then i'll see you all at trance gate.

HOLY SHIT.....I just looked over .forward's post. Did you actually say that river side was the best venue for the vibe? if you think riverside has the best vibe then you havnt been to many venues.

I cant believe you talk about riverside like we should be thanking the gods that these promoters booked it. Riverside is the most overused venue in the lower mainland, most people fucking hate that place.

I say that riverside is the best venue because even though it has been played time and time again, a venue doesn't get played out, party kids do. I have so many good memories from Riverside, and I don't judge a party simply by the hall it is put in.

How the hell do you think a venue never gets played out? Going to the same venue over and over and over and over.....believe me venues get PLAYED OUT, and riverside is one of those venues.

If the party were to be at plaza, the ticket price would go up. simple equation. plaza is double the price, triple the security, triple the lighting and sound prices and double the licensing.

If you can honestly tell me that riverside isn't a blessing to vancouver, you should look at the history vancouver's rave scene has been going through. It was at a point where we rotated through about 4 venues. riverside was the only venue where a party 900-1600 could be held. then, there was a point in time where riverside was restricted to 2 events per month, and plaza was a no go zone. At that point, teamhardcore.com went from over 5 parties a weekend, to about 10 parties a month.

Regardless of if there are a million cool venues out there, politically, throwing a rave in vancouver is a little more difficult than it used to be. Venues don't want to be associated with raves because they are not viewed lightly by the media.
