Brand spankin' new
so here's a little about me...
I just moved to the area after finishing university in Victoria. I don't know too many people over here yet. I'm a teacher. I teach music to elementary age kids. I think I have the best job on the planet. My musical preferences: breaks, hip hop, d n' b. My interests: producing music (a new venture for me), mc'ing, songwriting, spoken word, playing guitar, reading, learning. That's me in a nutshell... ~jo "betwixt decks there can hardlie a man catch his breath by reason there ariseth such a funke in the night..." ~W. Capps, 1623 |

Are you a school-teacher type teacher? Props if U are, I have a friend who was one and, despite her enthusiasm when she started out, she wound up feeling very burnt out and frustrated after a few years - thankfully that seemed to coincide with the birth of her first child, so she could just exit gracefully. |

No, I don't teach them that kinda music... not yet, anyway. We've been studying composers from the Baroque and Classical Eras and I'm teaching them to play guitar n' stuff. I did, however, put on a breaks cd when I was doing skipping with one of my PE classes. They loved it.
And I've only been teaching for a few months so far so I'm definately not feeling the burn out yet. I kind of look like the school teacher type sometimes, I guess, but only when I play it up. Tight bun and glasses and all that... lol. |
