Once upon a time...
Once upon a time, there was loungex. There was Riverside, grubby basements and this drippy place in North Van. There was Brush yo Teeth and HoZone on Thursday nights in the backroom. Sketchy Sundays on the seabus and Team Hardcore was brand new. There was my NV crew and McDonald's the morning after. There were loungex hats with your name on it - then I lost it on the skytrain...
There were drugs, and then there weren't. There was the first Apex. Summer Love was small... Talksic TUESDAYS... Once upon a time, I was a raver. To the young ones out there, raving has taught me both good and bad. It taught me: - how to dance - how NOT to dance - how to wear candy - how NOT to wear candy - how to tie a tie - how to roll of a small baggie inside of a straw - how to tell the difference between acid, new school, old school and funky breaks - how to beat match - how not to beat match - how to get gum out of anything - everything for two years after you stop raving is the anti climax - a lot of sick people are out there - a lot of nice people are out there - it's not a good idea to stay up for two or three days - A love and deepend understanding of electronic music - don't take massages from weirdos - people will steal anything - how to hide small baggies in your bra - take care of yourself and others Thank you, those of you who are still around, for the ride of my life. Robyn - miss myra! I care... If I can't define being cool as being old skool, my essence of being is lost! Defining the new skool from the old skool is the like, most important thing!
Tee hee :) Madame Myra - did you used to have bangs? and shorter hair? Maybe sometime in 2000/2001? Just wondering if I have the right person :) |

Ahaha!
I remember when sesame street remix was pop - just when I heard it, it was 97ish? At least that's when I remember it, it was probably lingering around as a token raver song, kinda like that robert miles song... The plaza is old school? Do they not have partys there anymore?:047: What a shame... the bathrooms were nice and I really loved the large number of tweakers you could fit into the plaza to sprawl all over the floor! Damn, 92 is a long time! I think I was 11, playing with Barbies:087: God bless the soul that can party for 10 yrs +. I couldn't. I would go kaput. :optimus: <--- This is old school! Damn I love these smilies! |
