you might not see him much out here at the moment, but he is working the rear backend of FNK like a gay rodeo. along with a collective of other projects we are developing.

Old Server:
- p4 Celleron 2.3Ghz
- 1G of ram
- 1G of swap
- ~80G HardDrive
- hosted in the Denver

Two New servers:
- 2 x Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz, with HT (looks like 4cpu's to the OS)
- 2G of 400Mhz DDR
- 1G Swap
- 2x 250GB SATA on Raid1
- Dual Gigabit NICs
- Hosted in vancouver.

This is just the new hardware....get ready for new software announcements shortly.

As for the server improvements, what about website improvements? The gallery doesnt seem so up to date with events. Other website improvements could be done to. But im glad Fnk is turning out for the better.

The ftp server is hosted by me at my home.

It's slowly coming back together... 900Gb online shortly.

New hardware is the first step. Once we get some wiggle room on the new servers, there will be lots of changes on the software end for you guys.

We're looking for some colocation for these servers right now. We'd love to put up an FTP or something where everyone can share their files, but with the costs of bandwidth in Vancouver it might not be feasable. We're looking at 3 different hosts right now and the prices are alright, but not great. If someone has an "in" at a colocation joint that can get us some cheap bandwidth, pass over the info! Hopefully we'll be able to get something cheap enough so we don't really have to worry about the bandwidth costs.

With that said, Myles and I have dreamed up a way where all you DJs out there can get your music out to the community. Stay tuned for more juicy details in the following weeks.
