San Diego & San Francisco

Well it looks like the boy and I are gonna make it after all (leaving Boxing Day or Dec 27th). We're taking a cpl days to drive down, prolly stopping in SF and ending up in SD. And so now begs the question:

What should you be sure to see/do in San Diego and San Francisco?

We are hoping to hit up Diplo (29th) and Gnarls Barkely & the Flaming Lips (30th), both in SF. And for NYE, likely The Pharcyde in SD. Also hoping to get to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, and more. Whee!

the drive along route 1, pacific coast highway (pch) is spectacular.
possibly the best road trip vacation in america.
get off I5 before u hit sacramento.
head into san fran from the north via 101 golden gate bridge
($5 toll southbound).
after san fran, continue down pch along the ocean, it's beautiful.
monterey, <- aquarium,
pebble beach, carmel, big sur <- julia pfeiffer burns park
and hearst castle.
once u get pass santa barbara,
get back onto I5 and drive pass LA as fast as u can.
nye, my guess is the action's across the border in tijuana.

ps. I5, 505, 80...(can't remember) to 101 is very confusing.
if u screw up, u'll head into san fran via oakland bridge <-blah

winter drivin condition may apply.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.
