Again ive looked aroudn too and seems Flightcentre has the best price for teckets... even cheeper then those student places. Q: Where and what kind of procedure did you go though whith all the shots/malaria pills etc. My dad is cuently going off at me becuase he says it will take a month to book an opointment and then for hep B two shots need to be done a month apart? |

I don't really like traveler checks. But I've never done this before, so what the fuck do I know. I"m budgeting 1000 for a month - and supposedly, you can live pretty large on that. But I'm not a big spender anyway. It all depends on whether or not you're going to rough it or not - so I hear. |

werd... I booked my shots at a travel clinic down town next week www.tmvc.come thank mike ;)
About insurance I checked out travel cuts today... they have a couple plans with "Bonvoyage" Ill probly go with there full packege (flight/medical/$800 lugage) for $79 in 31 days. I used the same insurance years ago when in Australia for the whole year. Never ued it but my friend had to for her back... trouble was she had to pay the bills there and then send the recipts to the insurance company when she returned home :( Again im curiouse about what to use as cash or how you go about taking your very important belinging around (passport/credit cards) Im hopeign my bacnk card will work there like it did in Australia and same with my credit card. And how paranoyed to you go about carring your passport/importnat papers etc... sleep with it? take in the the shower? and my biggest confusion is what to do when your on the beach and want to take a quick dip in the sea? My budget for everythign is about $3000... luckly I hope ive got this $1200 flight. meanign ill have over a $1000 to spend. Ken (ninewells) claims backpackers hes met in aus say they would be shocked if you were able to spend over $600 for a month in Thailand. Think abou it... avrege accom=$5 a night and 3 first class meals a day = $9 ... So ive read and heared. Last edited by Ree Fresh; Jun 23, 04 at 09:55 AM. |

1200 flight? were did you book?
i have the same questions about the money thing. i'll have to go into my bank and do a inquiry. and when i go swimming im keeping my papers on me in a seald watrproof baggie. my passport will be on me AT ALL TIMES or im going to try to anyways.....it might be kinda funny having a intamate moment with someone while grasping my passport instead of them though....ill have to find a work around for that one.... |

i suggest you get a money belt and keep all your important shit in there, and also make copies of it all and keep those in a seperate place, maybe in your bag. as far as swimming goes, just make sure you lock your room with YOUR OWN LOCK, and even then hide all valuables away in a sneaky spot. the day after i arrived i heard a story bout 2 girls who had everyhting taken from their shack while they were off scuba diving. scary to think about being trapped in thailand with no id or $. Also, i recommend just using your debit card. if it says maestro or plus on the back you should be all good. just take out like 5 or 10,000 baht at once to keep the charge down. check out http://thorntree.lonelyplanet.com/ its a forum like this , but its all about travel. people on there can answer any fucking question you have, i find it to be very useful. mike Last edited by mojo; Jun 23, 04 at 11:50 AM. |
