Me, my mom and my grandma having been mulling over Sri Lanka for the summer. I would love to go stay on a tea plantation and write a tea planting novel.

And I will definitely be in Greece sometime to track down a highschool chum turned whimsical hobo, and to rescue a long lost best friend from her chauvanistic, clean freak, Greecian fiance.

either of the following for spring break:

Peru, thailand, or driving down the coast to Mexico.

i think thailand, because i will be able to afford a more, comfortable stay... but if i chose peru, it will only be for a couple weeks.

i have an uber trip planned for 2005.

fly to bangkok, spend a month touring thailand, through cambodia (~ 1 1/2 weeks, angkor wat!!), up through vietnam (~ 2-3 weeks).
fly from vietnam to nepal (i think there are issues with this, but will research) spend a few weeks trekking in nepal, then a month and a half or so in india.
fly from india to south africa, travel around SA for a few weeks, then go through zimbabwe, zambia, and tanzania into kenya (~ month and a half).
fly from kenya to egypt, spend a few weeks in egypt, then do the classic middle eastern overland route from cairo to istanbul through israel, jordan, and syria.
~ month in turkey, then if time allows, i'll go to poland with the polak i'm traveling with, and from there make jaunts into germany and the czech republic.

going with one of my best girlfriends, leaving september 05 and coming home august 06. still need to save 8+k. :(

crystal do the research, peru is not that far off from thailand in terms of cost of traveling. i can garunteee youll spend more in thailand. esp if you wander around the night market in chaing mai.

*myself*

peru is my number one goal for the spring..all i need is a couple months of solid sales and im there!. top priority is to see machu pichu ruins and to sit and have a ayhusca session with a peruvian shaman.

i desperatly want to go back to thailand though......possible to be a dive instructor or a english teach in the north.

is the love parade going to happen? it didn't last year, because of major financial problems and political pressure, but maybe it will be back.

yeah, i really haven't been able to make advances in the saving money aspect of my trip. however, i have a plan, and should be able to save the $$ by our mid-september fly date. my parents are also very supportive, which helps. i haven't traveled anywhere in a year and a half though, and i won't be able to during uber crunch time... i'm going a little crazy.
