Cruise the World (dream liner)
http://www.aboardtheworld.com/
We have created a world that suits us. The World is a ship that carries our luxury vacation residences across the ocean and seasons to the four corners of the earth. It is as comfortable as we can make it with an excellent crew, caring staff and extremely comforting security. The ship cruises on, stopping for a night or two at ports around the world. We enjoy our life-style. We enjoy each other’s company and we also enjoy our own private apartments on board the ship. Many people have tried to describe our life aboard The World but the reality – the sheer quality of life – can only be understood by being here, by seeing it yourself. The Wold 2006 Itinerary January 2006: Carnival of Colour We start the year island-hopping around the Caribbean, before sailing via Key West to flamboyant New Orleans in time for Mardi Gras. From Galveston, Texas we set off to explore the Mexican coastline, with its emerald jungles, ancient temples, teeming cities, glitzy resorts, secluded beaches and fascinating wildlife. February 2006: Pacific Retreat A don't-miss trip through the Panama Canal begins Friday, after which we adopt a more leisurely pace through the Mayan heartland. The majestic ruins of Puerto Quetzal give way to the glittering lagoons and nightlife of Acapulco before we jurney northwards past Baja to San Diego. March 2006: "The Loveliest Fleet of Islands" Hawaii and her sister islands welcome us first with traditional luaus and mai tais, before we drift off on the frangipani-scented sea breeze in search of lava pool snorkelling and excellent golf courses. We then sweep across the International Date Line to Saipan and Taiwan to swim in stunning grottos and explore the world-famous food markets. April 2006: Springtime Celebrations Japan erupts with cherry blossoms in April and we spend the month celebrating the beauty and variety of Japanese culture. From Nagasaki and Hiroshima, we retreat to Kobe's hot springs before Tokyo's dazzling metropolis lures us westwards. We finish by toasting the spring in old Sapporo's celebrated sake breweries. May 2006: Golden Days From Pusan and Cheju-Do Island, we wend our way through the Yellow Sea towards landfall and the Forbidden City. Travelling southwards, we arrive in beguiling Shanghai and Nanjing. After a brief flirtation with the Yangtze, we sail through the rugged island scenery around Putuo Shan and Zhenhai. June 2006: Eastern Abundance The shops, the races, the delicious dim sum -- Hong Kong offers a myriad of delights and then we sail the South China Seas towards the sanctuary of the Philippines. Antique Cebu, vibrant Manila and the famous white beaches of Bora Cay divert us before we set course northwards once more. July 2006: The Cochin Coast Exquisite Vietnam, rich with ancient and modern history, welcomes us during early June before an invitation to the Sultan of Brunei's birthday celebration turns us southward and on to the unsurpassed beaches and temples of Malaysia and Thailand. August 2006: Here Be Dragons From the white sandy beaches of Ko Samui, we depart for the colonial grandeur of Singapore. Skimming southwards through the Java Sea we call at Semarang, Bali and Komodo before abandoning the emerald islands of Indonesia for Darwin and Australia. We set out from there to explore Thursday Island, Lizard Island and the Great Barrier Reef. September 2006: Underneath the Earth September begins in the Whitsunday Islands with swaying palm trees, clear, coral-filled water, technicolour marine life and beautiful people. Leaving the beaches behind, we wander southward through Australia's bustling cities: arty Brisbane, cosmopolitan Sydney and stylish Melbourne, before circling the wild mountainscapes of Tasmania. October 2006: New Zealand's Diversity After exploring Milford Sound and the Dusky Fjords, we round South Island for Dunedin, Akaroa and Kaikora and before resting awhile in Wellington. Climbing northward to Napier on the warmer Pacific coast, we call at Gisbourne, White Island and Tauranga before soaking up Auckland's bewitching atmosphere. November 2006: South Pacific Odyssey From diving in pristine reefs and dining out Ã* la français in Noumea, we journey via Vanuatu to encounter the fascinating blend of cultures in Fiji and enjoy kava parties in Tonga. The enigmatic Cook Islands lead us westward and we end the month exploring French Polynesia; Bora Bora, Papeete and other gems of the South Pacific. December 2006: Hidden Treasures Leaving the descendants of The Bounty's mutinous crew on remote Pitcairn Island, we arrive at Easter Island with its gigantic, enigmatic statues. From Robinson Crusoe Island, we set sail for Chile and the colourful port of Valparaiso. Christmas Day is spent in Valdivia in the tranquil Lake District and we welcome the New Year by meandering through the exceptional beauty of the Chilean Fjords. Life Aboard Because The World is our home - one of our holiday homes- it is a far cry from what people might imagine. It should be clear that The World differs from a cruise ship. Our travelers prefer an alternative to ordinary cruising or yachting. Ours is a quieter pace, more adventurous in our travels but more relaxed in life-style. Our time is ours to do with as we please, choosing to enjoy the life ashore - opera, museums, restaurants, shops - to see the natural wonders - fjords, mountains, icebergs, deserts, coral reefs and beaches. We also enjoy playing golf on the world's great courses, resting and reading aboard, catching up with friends or dining in our top-flight restaurants. We have everything we need to feel supremely comfortable aboard - from simple necessities like reading the morning paper, laundry services or the amazing treatments of Clinique La Prairie. But we also have the whole world to explore and enjoy - without ever moving from our own home. |

I work on Cruiseships, and might I say, .... The World ... is a piece, I mean its small and not anywhere near in great condition.
Furthermore, crew from ...the world... have told me they hate it there since they hardly get anytips, since the people "own" the cabin, why should they tip for service |
