The MP3 Player

I've had this crap flash drive mp3 player for ages and I just broke the screen. I want to buy myself a nicer one this time!!

I dont know if I want an Ipod, it seems like EVERYONE has them and I've heard a lot of complaints about them crapping out...

I was thinking of one of these nifty creative zen ones



or maybe the olympus one, I like the black and red...




has anyone used these?

Suggestions? What kind of mp3 player do you use/ reccomend?

I get around just fine with my iPod. But I hate the iPod software.

Get an iPod and rip out the software and install RockBox (http://www.rockbox.org) You dont need iTunes or anything, just drag and drop. Plus it doesnt use anywhere near as much space on the HardDrive as the iPod software does, so you get more room!

Creative is an amazing brand. I loved mine when I had it.

Not wanting an ipod because everyone has one is silly. Obviously there's a good reason a lot of people have ipods- they work well and they are extremely easy to use.

i disagree, they have consistent battery issues, barely last a year before something breaks, and are only easy to use if you use iTunes, or a copycat program. The best reasons to not use them is proprietary software, DRM, and there are other options on the market that are better and cheaper


creative is the way to go, best audio software, and they are more durable. my gf has that zen and loves it

I personally have a Nano and haven't had any major problems. Mind you I have a Powerbook and I hear Ipods aren't as reliable on a PC. Ipods used to have problems with batteries, but i think it's been fixed.

oaky I think I'm sold on creative.. I cant many negative reviews of them online, and they are preeeeeeeeeeeeeeety :)
