Why I Love My Mac!

So i'm just going to say that i am absolutely in love with my MacBook. I bought it when it first came out, first run and everything with AppleCare of course. It has not failed me anything major since then. Took it back for some recalls and stuff here and there. but nothing all that major. Everything years later, still covered by AppleCare.

Considering the 2+ years i've had this computer, It still runs like brand new, unlike some friends of mine and their laptops, which is either about to die, or they had to buy a new one to keep up with the tech upgrades, or running really really crappily.

The best part about what i like about my Mac, is that there is so much to learn about it, 2 years later, and I still learn something new Everyday! maybe sometimes not all that exciting, but new and very usable tools none the less.

I love my laptop, i feel like it'll last me all throughout my next 4 years of college with no fail. And I am also looking forward to many many new updates.

(I have installed WinXP on mY Bootcamp. and since the day i installed it in beta, have never found the need to use it, its still there, maybe just a waste of HDD space, gonna delete it soon)

I recently acquired an older 700MHz Dual USB iBook and it's a rad little laptop for travel and basic work.

Love it. Does everything that I need it to and surprisingly quickly for the specs on it.

i love how on the mac commercials they are bragging about how the mac runs backup once an hour and its some kind of new technology and they pretend like PCs havent had system restore for YEARS.

Um, system restore and shadow volumes are two entirely different things.

For one, 90% of the time system restore doesn't work (I speak from experience).
For another, system restore does nothing to back up your data files, just system files.

THAT BEING SAID, shadow volumes have been available since Win2k, but you could do that with MacOS too iirc. What's new (and this is new for Vista as well) is having the option natively built-in to the OS as opposed to just being an unused feature of the filesystem.

just went into the registry and did some cool stuff. I was planning on buying an external fan for the system since i do a lot of video editing on it. BUT what i found on the net was a way for me to increase fan speeds (without breaking them). Its as easy as changing a few numbers. saved me over 50 bucks.

Apple always claims to have the smallest/biggest/whatever du-jour. Eventually someone beats them and puts out something that has nicer specs.... remember when apple were the only ones putting out 30" LCDs?

Point is that they were first out the consumer gate. Even iPods weren't really a new idea, but they were the first ones to mass-market it, and as a result their brand became synonymous with "mp3 player" (much like all adhesive medical strips are known as "band-aids").

That and, honestly, all the other models I've seen that compare to the macbook air aren't as sexy. There, I said it.

Yeah, but your case is that a prototype wins at the "thinnest" game against something that is currently commercially available. I'm pretty sure Apple was sitting on their prototypes for a while before they announced the MBA.
