problem with DJM-500

ok so a week or s ago i got my djm500 in the mail that i won on ebay.
hook it up and it works great. but as soon as i used the effects, there was major feedback, and then the mixer shorts out and has to be reset.
obviously i was pretty pissed. i examined the mixer for damage and found one or two of the corners to be bent and the power button is stuck on the on position.

i have contacted the guy that sold it to me and one of the options i gave him was that i try to get it fixed locally and get him to send me the shipping insurance to cover it.
i really dont want to send it back and wait for my cash to come back then have to go find a new one... cause im stuck with my gemini cdm1000 till i get this sorted out :sad2:

now my question is, is there a place i can go locally that can possibly fix this, or if not, then does anybody on fnk or anybody you guys know know their way around this sort of stuff?

any suggestions are appreciated...

heh... that mixer is notorious for channel leaks and various other hardware fuck up's...

and sure enough 1 day later someone puts one on here for 500 brand new. just my luck eh.

i agree i dont use effects... but after it started happening during effects, it started happening out of random whilst just mixing. it just shorts out at random after about 30 secs to a minute now. sometimes less

and i mix with eq. i would disconnect the fader if my freinds werent such douchbags that they wanted to use it. another reason i wanted the pioneer one, so i could switch that shit off. i dno how to scratch so i dont see much point in me using it.....
