because they use cheap components, and have 3 year old asemble it, where as pioneer (what behrenger is modeld after) hires people and payes them a good wage and gets the components made with high quality...

its just a shame that they dont install fans cause pioneer heats up so much :(

i thought the same thing about the X9...but you might wanna try it out first. I still think the pioneer is head and shoulders above.

A lot of new mixers are gonna come out this year though!

I've had the djx700 for 2 months now.. and i enjoy it alot.. it's not like i take it to parties with me ... i use it for my play at home... and i'm extremly happy with it!

you are so right akeel. my friend got one and i played on it for a week while i stayed with him in seattle. all the knobs and faders are made of cheap hollow plastic and all-in-all the mixer feels clunky. a month later he was trying to trade it to me for my retired djm-500. . . I said "Suuuuuuuuuuure...". p.o.s.

if i were to invest in a mixer or anything i wouldn't buy a cheap knockoff cuz later on u gonna have to upgrade anyways...from wut i hear the behringer mixer sux...I used to have a behringer mixer b4 and the knobs kept breaking cuz they were made of cheap plastic....its so tru wut they say "U get wut u pay for"...

or course its not made as well as something thats 6 times as much
but that dosent meen that it SUCKS!

for $300 its a pretty good mixer

well eric has been using it for a couple of monthes and loves it so i guess its a matter of opinion

and you can always look at it this way

$1500 budget

pioneer = broke with a good mixer

or $1500 - $300 = $1200 = decent mixer and money left over

$1200 / $15 (for records) = 80 new records and music to play on a good mixer at parties or clubs where ever

2 things: 1) you cant resell that mixer 2) its only been a couple months. i hate to say it but give it a few more and watch it fall apart.

there are alternatives to getting ripped off on 600's.
buying from a reputable seller on ebay will save you about 650 dollars.
that can buy a lot of records, with dope mixer to boot.
