I'm not sure if this is the best place to put this, but whatever.
I'm part of the terminal city rollergirl league. that's right, vancouver has rollergirls.
we're having a fundraiser on June 2. we need dj's!
at least one, if there's 2 you can split times you play. basically we need someone to play in between the bands we are going to be having as well. probably about an hour and a half to two hours max per set. problem= we can't pay you. BUT there will be super cheap booze (it's at the commercial drive leagion) and you can bring along any kind of promo you want. this event is currently SOLD OUT.

also genre wise... I'm kinda looking for something that would be acceptable for people that don't know a hell of a lot about electronic music. not that they don't like it, but I'm sure playing an hour of hardcore or evil drum and bass isn't going to win me any friends. all I've been told is something that "people will dance to". which is ridiculously vague but I think falls in the middle ground of electroclash, mashup, house, funky house, disco house, maybe some hip hop, something along those lines.
