Hmm I really couldn't decide where this topic would fit so I decided to post it here...

What are your guys' thoughts on plastic surgery? Are there any surgical procedures you'd consider?

Me and my mom have gotten into the habit of watching "skin deep" and I was just discussing the show with one of my girl friends today so I thought it would be interesting to read some other peoples responses.

I think that I'd definitely consider plastic surgery in 5-10 years... there are a few things I could see myself changing about my body. It's just a personal thing, I care more about my own opinion of myself than what anyone else says so I know it wouldn't be for the wrong reasons.

i want implants. its not really something new, and its for my own reasons. i've wanted them for a while now. i dont see a problem with plastic surgery. it's when it get excessive, that its gross.

As for me. I would only get a breast lift when I'm older. And if I ever busted my face or something like that. Otherwise, no way. I don't like it. I think it's gross. Plus, I can think of better things to spend my $ on. And what if something went wrong! LIke a face lift from hell.

But to each their own..................I guess.

i dont know i think i would get little things done like getting rid of that extra chin i get when i smile or just lift my lid a little so it doesnt look like one eye sits higher then the other on my face. nothing drastic i dont hate my body just a little improvement thats all. :)

I see nothing wrong with plastic surgery.

It's your body, do as you please with it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind breast implants. Not huge huges ones, but something bigger. That is the one big complaint I have about my body. I don't like the thought of facial plastic surgery (for me anyways) unless i was in some accident or something.

Anything else would be small stuff, when i get older, like stretch mark removal or something like that. Just small things.

i don't think plastic surgery is a bad thing unless it's done too drastically..i think that if doing something to your body makes u feel better..then go for it!..

i was thinking about getting my lids done, leg extensions to increase height, liposuction, breast implants...i've thought about it all..we'll see how much $$ i have in the future..yup..there's a few things i wouldn't mind changing..

I'm with u on this one.. definently need to get rid of my xtra chin.. what the hell .. its impossible to get rid of

you can get leg extensions? crazy. i never knew that.

hehe, i could never imagine you taller, but only cause i've always known you that height.

Shades: If you were butt ugly or had a pussing wart on your nose then I could understand, but you are actually pretty! That in itself should be good enough if you ask me. There are plenty of other things to waste your money on.

I have such mixed thoughts on this

I too watch Skin Deep every now and again adn I think it's pretty easy to pick out the folks who are doing things for allt he wrong reasons - and why the heck there are more questions asked by the doctors to determine what someone's real motivations are behind having the procedure

If I loked I am sure I could find some staggering stats that women are likely a hundred times more likely to want a cosmetic procedure then men - and I think we all know that media portrayals have something to do with that - even the smartest of women and the most beautiful can find something ugly or changable on their bodies
If I ever have ridiculous amounts of money I would have abs like Janet Jackson built for me and even bigger boobs and then when i was older I'd have the implants removed and a lift done

i would never get any plastic surgery done to myself EVER. Love the skin your in, i think people who get plastic surgery dont love themselves and have serious self esteem issues along with insecurity issues and bla bla bla.

Goddessa: I don't think everyone who gets plastic surgery done has major self esteem issues, everyone has different reasons for getting it done. But, that being said, I think a lot of people need to go over their reasons for getting it done and make sure they're completely certain.

Personally, I wouldn't mind getting implants, nothing too drastic though, I wouldn't go up more than a cup size. I'd also love to do something about the bags under my eyes, and seeing as how I already have fine lines around my eyes, I'll probably do something about that when it gets more severe.. when i'm older of course.

As for me, I don't think I'd ever get any plastic surgery, except of course if I were in some sort of crazy accident where my face or other body parts got mangled.

I could agree with plastic surgery if it was to correct birth defects or scars from a violent crime that left menatl and emotional scars along with physical scars... but if it was just to enhance ones body or beauty i see it as superficial and shallow... in my humble opinion :)
