i disagree.. I used to smoke a lot of pot. Now when I have a joint I get intense chest pain and i feel like i'm going to die. Explain that.

Please tell me all this again when you're on a waiting list for a lung transplant due to the fact that pot contains 5 - 15 times as many carcinogens as tobacco. Also, stay away from my children, hippy.

Pot is way less harmful than tobacco products. I know more ppl that smoke pot than cigarettes, and these people arent lazy bastards they are parents, teachers, priests(2 that i know), and other important ppl in the community.

please answer your own question... 5-15 times as many carcinogens? what are you basing that on?

the truth is, weed & smokes contain the same carcinogens, only there's a higher concentration of them in weed (1.5 to 3 times, according to my sources). i'm guessing that, since the average weed smoker doesn't suck back 20 fat joints to themselves over the course of a day or two, that it pretty much evens out.

ive smoke weed and cigarettes for a long time and weed never had me freak out cuz i needed to blaze so bad....cuz its not addictive....cigareetes did... cigareetes are what made me have bronkitis and couf up blood everday.... so i quit and focussed more on pot and i feel way better.... pot is good... and were lucky to live in vancouver... so maybe if u don like it so much be quite... or go back east or to the states or sumthin

ugh, I leave this thread for five minutes and it fills with more ignorance.

To address the concerns of Robyn, Robb, PPcock, and Decypher ,
marijuana, like anything you burn will cause lung irritation. That's just basic knowledge, if you burn a pile of leaves and inhale it, you're inhaling carbon monoxide, tar, and a number of other irritants.

Cannabis however, can be absorbed a number a ways without ill effects. If you haven't yet heard of a vaporizer , research it. www.bcvaporizer.com . It contains a metal element that heats the marijuana to a temperature that releases THC and other cannabinoids , without igniting a single flame. There's no combustion, so there's no smoke, hence it vaporizes the THC before burning the plant matter.

You can also cook cannabis with practically anything. If you cook it in a fatty substance prior ( like butter or oil ), so the THC can bind to the fat molecules, you can then add it to any recipe you like. For example, fry a little in oil before hand, then use the oil to make taco's. You'll absorb the cannabinoids without any ill effect.

In summary, there's many alternatives to simply smoking. You'll have to find another myth to exploit. However I do welcome them :)
