Hmmmmmm... this sounds interesting. I will refer your services to a friend of mine who just tried mod'ing his X-Box.
On the flip, for the peeps like me that don't know exactly what these different mods do, can you explain? I can X-box so of these different mods you speak of, what do each of them do? |

Basically, if you were looking for a "mod", or a method to play CD-r and DVD-r backups of games, I'd ask you how much money you wanted to spend, and go from there. If i had a ballpark figure of how much someone expected to pay, I could lay out ALL of there options (including pros, cons, opinions, etc.). There's a TON of different modchips and modchip alternatives on the market - more than an FNK post allows me to explain. =) Hope this helps Kraig! PS. Refer away... -revert |

If your console "gives out" after a month or two, there's nothing really I can do about that, besides assist you to fix it. However, if it gives out after a week - I'd fix the the problem for you.
Let it be known that I've modded a ton of consoles in the past couple years. I haven't had any problems. I'd be willing to hand out references of people who I've modded (with their permission of course). Average ballpark figure for "only the best" modchip (and installation) for PS2 or XBOX (this would be a direct swap mod - put in burnt disc and play)... I'd say AROUND $100, but again, totally depends on your preferences. If you're really interested, please e-mail me with your ballpark figure preference, your needs, and your console type... totally best to do it that way. Does that answer your questions Snyx? |

well the reason to mod is piracy
you're not going to mod your console so you can say "i modded my console but i still buy my games" throwing a harddrive into an xbox and extracting the game into the drive.. how is that not piracy? as much as i dont support it.. running off a drive rather than a disc is uber fast and hot. |

actually a lot of xbox modding has nothing to do with piracy. xbox is a computer that will actually hold it's value in say a year or two. and personally i plan on bringin my xbox around to buddys house, (i rarely play at home) so if i can save myself from carrying discs, then that's 1 less hassle. extracting a game onto the hardrive isn't piracy if i own the fucking game man. same reason you can copy cd's you've bought no problem. be it mp3 player or whatever. on top of the fact that i can have all the emulators on it.
a lot of people use their xbox as a home entertainment unit, and they use it for tons of non video game related stuff. it's a cheap, mini comp. simple as that. modding the xbox will pay for itself simply because you won't need that dvd remote. |
