Theres tonnes of places for rent, i walked by a bunch of houses that said room for rent on Haro st. the other day. I've seen 1 bedrooms go for around 500-850 a month depending on location. Good luck!

I lived in a basement suite with a friend and we shared a room. No matter how close you and your best friend might be..sharing a room is a big no no!!

East van area always has places.. The drive is wicked but everyone wants to move down there these days so it might be a little harder. Try Uptown (Main or Fraser areas are pretty good). And have awesome bus services. and it's only 15 minutes from downtown.

There are all kinds of places. And they all seem to be cheaper than our apartment in COQ. Go figure. COQ sucks.

I know you said you wanted about $1000/m, but if you're willing/able to spend $1200 (maybe less), my building is AWESOME. It's at 41st and Victoria so it's right along 2 main bus lines and is only a 10 min bus ride from Broadway/Joyce skytrain (depending on which way you want to go). It's a 3-year-old building (I think...it's less than 5 anyways), and it's got a really nice laundry facility (that has a couch!).

call a real estate agent out there and get them to find you a rental, they usually dont charge anything because the people renting the place have to pay to have the agent list it for them. that way you can tell them your budget and the area you want it.

^^lol even my dad told me he cant help me..he said he can help if i give him a newspaper. dads a real esatate agent.. they dont really know the scope on rents.. its all driving around the area, internet classifieds and newspaper classifieds.

it's be much easier to look whenI wanna look.. and when I'm free instead of having to rellay to a person.

maybe or when I buy a house.. but thats not for awhile.
