I used it for about a year but now I need more space and want to buy a bigger capacity external drive and won't have use for this one anymore.

It also has a Maxtor carrying case and comes with USB and FireWire cables to hook up to the computer. Windows/Mac compatible.

Hey Firewire, what's the new one you're looking at? I've been toying with the idea of an external drive, but I've never used one. How's the transfer speed? any compatability issues? who makes the best?

Those maxtor drives are nice. Just make sure your computer uses usb 2.0 because if it's 1.0 the transfer will be REALLY slow.
