Im not knocking paintball, dont get me wrong.
Just seems so expensive. You need to buy the gun or rent everytime, pay for air & paintballs, plus you need a mask, which are all pretty expensive these days

Paintball is dirt cheap compared to airsoft. Especially with the large market these days. A decent entry level tournament gun used to cost 3-400$ and can now be found for half of that. Mask is the same used for both sports, except some hardy airsoft folk seem to think only using the visor is ok(chipped teeth). Just to start a beginner hopper is like 15bux. Air is usually included with field fee at most ranges.
Or it costs like 3 bux to fill...a 12oz tank usually good for 3-400 shots. A decent hop up airsoft gun is double that for the gun alone. Real gun equivalent of airsoft is often cheaper. Last edited by Chuck; May 16, 06 at 02:42 PM.

Well, I dont deny airsoft guns are higher priced. But you dont have to always be filling air and buying so much paint!
I sell bags of about 5000 rounds for 20 bucks! You dont have to buy air, and other then goggles, the rest is up to you! I guess you can look at it either way. Sorry, I didnt want to ruin the thread this way! For paintball it does sound like a good price!

paintball is hella expensive, my barrel, stock, remote line and secondary tank alone have cost me around $250, plus the marker package was about $300...
and im not even on hpa yet! not to mention cases upon cases of paint

if you go hardcore yes.
Hell if you want a simple game with your buddies you can get a paintball gun for under 100bux for the whole package. Ive run about nearly a grand in gear myself for paintball, but i used to play with a squad n stuff. But thats the same with anything, you want to get really into it, you have to pay for it.
