Well, here's a personal recap of energy drinks I've had, from favorite to least:
Monster: Made by the same guys that do Hansen's. These guys were making energy drinks before taurine was legalized here in Canada, so they know a good combo. The taurine's just an added bonus now! Taste good too. Usually have one of these a night at work, though I'll spread it out over a few hours. It doesn't have the immediate kick some other drinks do, but I find it lasts longer and a burn-out is rare.
Rockstar: It has that slighty syrupy taste like a Red Bull, but is smoother. The addition of guarana gives the libido a slight boost too, which is handy for nights out on the town (heh.. hence the Rockstar name). I tend to only stick to the sugar-free ones though, for the sake of my teeth.
Hansen's: Yeah, the original. Don't find them much anymore though, since all the taurine drinks have pretty much put 'em out of demand.
Red Bull: Only the original import ones though from the vial, if drinking straight. Hell, even as an addition to vodka. These new ones around are far too surgary.
Sobe: Eh.. alright. Not as strong as the others (well, stronger than a Hansen, to be fair), but I don't care for the grapefruit taste.
Full Throttle: ...but at least Sobe tastes better than this crap! Ugh... watered down Orange Crush. I've never had much of a kick off this one either.
A Million And One Other Knock-Offs: Fuck 'em all. Stick to those first four, my friends (well, fifth too, if you like the taste of grapefruit). There really isn't many other ways to mix together taurine, caffine, ginseng, guarana, and carbonated water that can be improved upon.
