I considered doing this as well once (when i used to have three tongue posts) the major bonus is that's it's completely reversible. however...id like to know what you are doing that will keep it from just growing back together right now? usually you have to cut it with a scalpel and put stitches between the sections until it's fully healed.

When you go with the fishing line approach, it slowly cuts away from the pierced hole and the tip of your tongue simultaneously. The tissue heals extremely fast, so it literally is healing as it's cutting. If I go too fast, it will bond again.. but at a slow pace (over the course of a few months) it will continue to heal as it cuts.

do you have to tighten it to keep it cutting ?? and even then.. wont the cut part heal when it is moving inward ?

and as for tightening it, I tie a new piece of line around it every day or two, depending on how fast it loosens up.

i don't think he's talking about anyone elses personal expression. i think he's just saying that he'd like someone who respected his form of personal expression, because he'd respect theirs, whatever it is.

Very cool. I would never do it myself, but I have seen it and like it. And as a girl, I'd date someone with a split tongue. Hell, why wouldn't I? As long as I'm attracted to the guy and his personality and mine mesh. It's just a modification, but unlike tattoos, this is not permanent. I see a huge difference in someone getting a split tongue and someone getting an ugly butterfly tattoo on their body ~ meaning I'd much rather get my tongue split for the experience.

He's in good hands. The people he works with know what they're talking about. They know their stuff. They wouldn't let anyone do anything that wasn't safe.

haha I find this funny too because, even when you get a tongue piercing, most people don't sound like this. I know I didn't:p. Some people get speech impediments from tongue piercings because the jewellery is close to the tip of the tongue. Am I right?
