the speeds I've reached with oink are great, I love downloading an entire album in less than 3 minutes.

DC hubs are such a bitch to use I found.. ^^ Really picky, I got tired of it

you're talkin DC++ stuff right, or somethin diff? I dno I do like SLSK tho.

anyway, oink has such good DL speed because of the low tolerance they have for leechers. sucks that I didn't know about the sharing ratios till it was too late basically, then they gave me another chance and I musta uploaded like 200mb straight, no DLing, and fuckin mods kicked me off "you werent doing enough"

Slsk is great, but it's all about having buddies and connections. Lots of peeps have buddy-only shares now. Been there forever (since audiogalaxy went down) and have about 150 users in my list now. It's an awesome place for music and by far the best I have found so far for rare stuff!

They just banned one of my best slsk buddies...accused him of doing reencodings...it was NOT true...he PWND the trip-hop section and uploaded 70GB or sth and had an awesome ratio...but no, banned for no reason...

I got banned from Oink as well for my low share ratio.

Wasn't my fault I only downloaded like 1.2gb from them, left my pc running all day and night trying to seed but nobody was seeding from me.

As for speeds when I use usenet I usually get a solid 550-575k/sec. The high speeds pretty much max out my cable modem.

Im trying to plea my case in the chat, saying Ive kept that shit on Upload for days and still get the boot for not doin enough, they were like you shoulda setup more seeds.. alright OK how bout I don't flood my comp.

and 85 , you were prolly just not settin up the seeding correctly, theres a couple obscure things u gotta do if i remember.. if you have a reasonably popular CD ppl will be DLin the shit outta it right away pretty much.

ahh whatever fuckit! I still get everything I need various other ways.

for oink ... it took me 2 weeks to upload 2 gigs.. but that's uploading 2 torrents and seeding like 25 more

it's simple.. just don't download... the ratio will go up eventually... jsut never shut down your machine and also OPEN YOUR PORTS
