OK so i need a bit of computer help!
I am not totaly incommpetent but seem to have run out of ideas of how to help my friend.

ever since her little bro downloaded the newest msn/windows messenger she cant log on with out getting a error message talking about her firewall and how messenger needs to be added to the safe list

the weirdest part of all is that even when it seems like she is not signed in on our end people can still start talking to her as if signed on?

If your talking about live messenger.. yeah I know. I fuckin hate that P.O.S.

I have ppl who have been blocked and taken off my list months ago that suddenly can send me messages even when i'm set to 'appear offline'.

Search an older version. I hated MSN Live....

Uninstall (but make sure you know what your doing. trust me it sucks if you dont)
Re install older messenger

I would say just roll back the version to MSN messenger like you guys said. Windows Live messenger still has some bugs. But if you want to keep it, find out what firewall your friend has (Norton, ZoneAlarm, etc..) and open it up and find the "block and allow" list and search for your "Windows Live messenger" and make sure all sections have a green checkmark or are "allowed". I actually really enjoy the live messenger. I haven't had any problems with it.
