How much of a student discount do you get at UBC Bookstore for Apple products?

i forge the exact amount, but it's not a huge amount - when i got an ipod w/ the student discount, it basically saved me the taxes.

Laptops are a bit cheaper but the prices for the iPods were the same as the prices I see at Futureshop.

Anyone know where I can get an iPod video at a discount? I think I'll pass on the laptop for now.

you generally won't find much of a discount on Apple hardware outside of what is shown on their educational store web page. Apple generally doesn't allow their retailers to sell for less than what is on the Apple page. The retailer makes very little money off the ipod, instead they make money off ipod accessories. You might as well just buy it. If you can hold off till January, I wouldn't be suprised if the next gen ipod gets released at macworld SF.

I'm in no rush to buy one.

I was going to install a cartridge style music jukebox into my car until my friend showed me his iPod w/ iTrip transmitter.

I must have been braindead for a couple of years as I just didn't clue in to how elegant a solution that was.

Yes... a non Apple mp3 player with transmitter will probably work just as well but the way the iTrip interfaces to the iPod can't be beat.

I know this has little to do with what your talking about but I gotta spread the news cos its insane. passes are about $350 which is so awsome compared to the $2000 it usually costs..Plus its QUALITY riding... So everyone get one and we should all go up in a crew this season..

deadline is nov 15 i beleive and it's 360 for a FULL SEASON PASS

however... it's for people within the age of 18-25 only... so it' s my last season that i can get one since they are real dinks about showing id and checking the age

Winston.. if you want a ipod video, just buy one off apple from the refurbished section.

When I was looking at buying mine.. they were $349 (for 30GB), or $315 with the education discount.. buuuuuut I bought a refurbished one instead for $229 (I think now that they've had the price drop they're like $209 or something). And honestly, it's the same warranty and everything and there really is no difference between new and refurbished.. well.. except it might come in a different box, but that's it. :)

Anjew's friend has a 60Gb 5th generation unit for sale (they want to upgrade to a 80Gb) and I'll probably pick that one up if it is great shape. If it isn't then I'll go grab a 30Gb one off the Apple site.

You can grab either size.. and either colour if you want. They have pretty good stock of them.

Also, check out the price on the laptops too.. they have refurbished computers up there as well. Not to mention, a lot of times they come with addons and stuff that aren't listed (extra ram, etc.). But either way, they have some wicked deals that way. And free shipping.. with fedex!
