BC Poker Championship Satellites

Just wondering if anyone else besides myself is going to attempt to win a seat to the BC Poker Chamionships via satellites? I'm going to be taking a shot at it this Saturday at the Edgewater in their $140 twenty person tourney.

You are right, there is a $1000 buy in pot limit hold'em tourney but the one that I'm going for is the $2700 buy in no limit event. Since I don't have $2700 laying around I'm playing a $140 entry 20 person tournament where the winner gets an entry ticket into the main tournament.

I won one last year for pot limit and ended up paying my buy in for the limit event from my winnings off the Pot Limit Omaha game.

I didn't know they had a tourney at Edgewater as it is a lot closer than going to River Rock.

Ya, the Edgewater does a pretty terrible job of advertising that they are running satellites. They have a few small pamphlets about the satellites up in the poker room but that's about it.

I went tonight to play 20/40 at Broadway and picked up a tournament schedule.

I'm skipping going to Victoria and playing in both tournaments this weekend at River Rock.

i was playing yesterday at coq casino, the lady won the bad beat. 36000 and the loser one 18, everyone else on the table won around 2200. man i wish i was on that table. oh well

So last Saturday's satellite was cancelled due to lack of signup (they had 15 people but needed 20). Hopefully the same isn't the case for the 28th as everyone has been rolled over to that one.

I played at the Omaha satillite at River Rock on Sunday and didn't fare very well.

Made $1200 playing in the $2-5 pot limit cash game though so it was worth the trip down there.

They don't have many high limit hold'em games anymore as all that action is at the Holiday In..

They do have good no-limit hold'em games but I get way too bored to play that.

They recently started spreading a $2-5 pot limit Omaha 8 or better game and it is really nice.

When they heavy action comes for the BC Championships they'll have a $100-200 hold'em game as well as a $5-10 and $10-25 Omaha Pot Limit

Hey Winston, do they have NL at this place on broadway ? ive never been there before ..riverrock hasnt been spreading higher then 3/6NL for awhile and the game is not even worth playing in though from what ive seen. Can make more in the 1/2NL.

I know cascades has 10/20NL once in awhile have u ever played in that game?

It's cheaper, fewer skilled players I have to contend with and it removes a lot of the 'luck' factor due to hand selection.

If I do well in the Omoha Final then I might win enough to freeroll into the Hold'em event.

But depending on how the high limit cash games play out I might just play those instead.

They don't spread NL very often at Broadway. Their main games are 10/20 and 20/40 both with full kill... going there tonight to play.

I don't like playing NL as it is like watching paint dry as it is so damn boring. I'll play it if I have nothing better to do if I'm at River Rock but otherwise I'd play just about anything else.

I've never been to the Cascades yet and since I live in N. Van it might be a while until I do get there.
