Huntsman spider, quite common in Australia. My first experience was when one about the size of my hand took up residence on the ceiling of the livingroom in the hostel I was staying at. Even the men were terrified of going anywhere near it.

One day it came down and you could hear it's feet "tsktsktsk" across the linoleum in the kitchen.

After a while, wierdly enough, you get used to seeing tennis-ball sized spiders hanging out everywhere and become very aware of the "don't put your hand anywhere you can't see" rule.

I fucken hate spiders! Yesterday me and my boss were moving a cabinet out of a garage and I grabbed the bottom of it and then I felt something move across my hand, I just knew it was a spider, so I let go, luckily the cabinet was mostly all on the truck, so it didn't break, lol. The spider was a huge black widow.

We got it on the ground and I lowered the ramp on it, crushing it to death! I hate spiders, they are so gross.

Imagine spiders could fly, apperantly Tarantula's can fly through the air as high as 6 feet.

RIDICULOUS!!!! They are WAY too heavy and don't have the leg power to generate the muscular burst necessary for "lift-off". Now Jumping Spiders CAN jump up to 40 times their own body length, but these creatures are MUCH smaller and are an entirely different and very specialized species - NOT Tarantulas.

I find the brazilian white knee tarantula to be the prettiest
