Some of these business minded artists, I can believe that they really put their heart and soul into the music first, and the business aspects come after.

But with kanye, its just so obvious he only makes music to make money and fame.
Most of his songs are pretty ho-hum, so i just can't believe the attitude he has. Its halarious.

kanye's a total package. you might not agree with the way he creates his hype, but you can't argue that he's one of the smartest people in the industry.

with no real 'beef's going on, hes got to create controversy. he's diddy in the 00's (except he can rhyme and his remixes are a lot hotter).

you don't have to love his music, but imo his beats are tight and most have pushed a lot of hiphop boundaries.

timba, outkast, pharrell and kanye are the only ones doing shit in *edit* <mainstream> hiphop these days.

i just read the akon thread and cant believe the people posting about how hot that shit is, cuz it's utter crap. seriously neither snoop or em can save that shit (keeping in mind snoop and em have both fallen off).

I think that Kanye is one of the most if not the most talented industry wise now. His beats are very well done and it isn't the stupidest rhymes. His controversy is not effective though, it just pisses people off and with his fan grab it's not going to workout. Eminem as such, had a fan base that was a bit easier to influence I think. Snoop was off when he dropped R&G.

I thought that Late Reg was a masterpiece for sure. It was a very solid album but his childish antics suck imo.

i'm with Omega on this one, Kanye knows what he's doing. anyone thinks this will hurt his rep is fooling themselves. all this bs about he makes music for the money and fame is rediculous. he's a serious, multi-talented artist who's made to the top through hard work & much adversity. nobody said he's the best rapper, but he's got talent and not many can fuck with him as a producer. As an overall artist & performer he's genius, especially when it comes to image & marketing.

kanye has nothing on outkast, pharrel or timbaland, who've all been in this industry longer and didnt have to rely on media controversy to gain recognition (because they actually make good music).
