i don't understand why someone wouldn't replace their recalled battery.

besides the damage that it could do to your laptop/home, they're offering you a free NEW battery. so even if you don't care about your battery overheating on you, why not take advantage of a fresh new battery for free?

any notebook computer will do that if you overload the powersource... try hooking up an industrial battery charger to a car battery.... Shit will explode....

yeah, but i'm pretty sure the whole purpose was to show what could happen with one of the recalled battery.

any normal functioning battery won't do that.. unless you do what they did to it. whereas the batteries that have been recalled could overheat and malfunction along those lines on their own.

what would be the point of replacing a perfectly good non-recalled battery anyways?

as a mac user.. apple really does everything to notify me to replace my battery. sent me a mail directly to my house to let me know to sign up online..and within 4 days its at my front door. i was impressed with the service... replace it, it doesnt take much work

^ same here. i got a notification that i had purchased my laptop during that time, and that i should go confirm my battery status.

i didn't need to replace it though, but it doesn't surprise me that you got it in 4 days. apple + fedex = <3

Thanks for letting me know how easy that was. Hopefully my new battery will be here in a few days. They never sent me anything saying i needed to replace my battery, I learned about it on here.
