The styles of the two fighters turned the fight into what it was. Munson's only chance was to grabble, meanwhile Silva wanted to strike but knew that if he let his hands go, the little dude was going to go for his legs.
The fight actually got more interesting on the ground.

it was yesterday.
monson vs. silvia: just as i thought it would happen. silvia used his reach to minimize monson's take-down opportunaties. but when monson got silvia on the ground, he didn't do enough damage. he focused all of his energy on ground n pound, and not enough on submitting silvia. i wanted monson to win just because i think silvia is an asshole, and it would have been awesome to see a guy a foot shorter than silvia dominated him! too bad that didn't happen. hughes vs. st. pierre: i thought this fight was gonna go to a decision, or a submission by either fighter. the bar i was at went wild when georges entered the octogon. they went even more nuts when he landed that kick to the side of matt hughes' head. that kick reminded me of liddel's win over sobal 3 years ago. quick, connected, and all he had to do was pound on him until jonh mcarthy threw him off. an exellent victory for st. pierre, and i know he is going to do alot of damage as welterweight champ. i can't wait until liddel defends his title again against ortiz. my prediction: liddel wins buy knockout withing the first 2 minutes of the first round.
