I wonder if certain people on the board ever get tired of overly hyping every show they play at/attend/throw etc....
I mean advertising is a must for every event to succeed, that I understand, but when you go into an event thread and realize that 3/4 of the posts are by the same person doesn't it kinda lose momentum? Instead of looking like an event that'll be huge and go off it looks like an event that 5 people are going to and that one dude who is "SO EXCITED" or "CAN'T WAIT" or "OMG NEXT WEEK!" or "IT'LL BE OFF THE HOOK" is ready to shit his pants with glee. Maybe it's just me..... hmmm....

ok ok... I didn't target anyone with this post or intend it to turn into a bash post. I just asked a question and I'm curious to see what others might think.... other than that I thought maybe it would elicit a giggle or two...

I don't know, some people just like to bump a thread because they are playing and want to make sure it's in new posts so enough people know and they're not playing for a crowd of 2 haha
and I can also see why some promoters do it too, I mean if you have money riding on a show and you're risking losing money then I don't think it's a huge concern to them that they might look like idiots replying to themselves. I can see your point totally though.

On a serious note...
Myra is correct. But there are promoters who avoid saying those particular lines....take Kraig for instance. He is much more creative with his thread bumps, like linking an audio stream or giving more history on the DJ. Seeing the same person post over and over again the same 5 played statements isn't promo, it is annoying.

I totally see what you mean Myra... I just get more annoyed by the one-liner useless posts. I do appreciate it when a promoter takes the time to gather some info and post up links etc. for the headliner or whatever the case may be. It seems less of a useless bump and more of a 'Hey, here's a really good reason to come out'

As the first DJ to post besides rawb... I seriously get SOOOO EXCITED BEFORE EVERY MUTHER F'N SHOW!!!! OMG ONLY 4 WEEKS UNTIL I PLAY THE RED ROOM AGAIN GUYS!!! ITS GOING TO BE OFF THE HOOK IN THE BACK ROOM WITH 20 PPL... GONG SHOW!!! EVEN THE SHOWS THAT I OPEN FOR WITH BARELY A FEW PPL WALKING AROUND.... ITS SOO MUCH FUN AND ITS ALWAYS THE GREATEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE... YOU JUST CANT MISS IT GUYS!!! DJ'S LOVE EVERY SHOW WE PLAY IT... AND EVERY TIME WE JUST ROCK IT! AND AFTER EVERY SHOW... EVERY ONE PLAYS A WICKED SET!!! I CANT WAIT!!! SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!
