to skin windows or to not skin windows

is it really worth adding all the stardock titles to make your pc look a little more stylish?

i use to do it on this beast, but i never really ran alot of programs.
im gettin a new comp as u may of seen the old post, and im getting all my software ready 2 load up.

any1 ever have probs with it?
does it really take up much more cpu/ram?

before you start messing about with WindowBlinds (which is really quite good) check out:

Windows XP Zune Theme

and

Windows XP Royale Theme

These are both 'official' xp themes that take considerably less resources that the windowsblinds skins.

If you want better looking, just grab a copy of Vista from your favourite bittorrent source.

I used to be about that, but now I'm just running xp with the windows classic style, and limited effects. I got the colours and fonts to be exactly how I want them but most importantly, it saves cpu power.

short answer: no, but I guess it all depends how much time you actually spend on your comp, and how much time you take to look through all of your new pretty themes and icons, and it also depends on how much you wana show off some stuff you downloaded.

if you're going to skin your xp installation, make sure you make the text colour hard to read and include lots of aliens to show that you're an independant thinker.

i like the royal theme not the black one but surprisingly the green and blue metallic, looks a lot cleaner, why did sum1 make a orange skin ewww i hate orange, need silver and blue damnit!
