Dj Music Rights

Hi Everybody. I am a new sound, lighting and dj company and i am starting up to provide dj events around bc, and i will be hiring dj's as i need them. but i would like to get into dj'ing myself. i want to be a request dj, and i was talking to a request dj and he was telling me that you can buy pre-loaded hard drives full of licenced music. is this true and were can i get ahold of one???? I'm not sure exactly what you mean, local DJ's rarely spin their own licensed music, they play other people's. You're allowed to do so, just as a radio host plays other peoples music.

You can't sell songs you haven't made, that's the difference. Hope that clears things up.

First, You are on the wrong site, because this is FnK, not a place for 'request DJs'. DJs on here play what they want, because they don't play highschool dances or weddings. :D

thanks guys for clearing some stuff up for me. i mix trance but as i want to get into request i thought i'd ask about rights to play live etc. any more thoughts on this??
