IMO, Silver looks cheap and is cheap. that's why wannabe gangster kids wear it.

24k gold looks nice and changes colour due to the oils and temperature of the owner.

Asians predominately wear 24k (.999 fineness) while most other cultures wear 14-18k.

Platimum looks nice, had a nice lustre to it but scratches easily unless plated and weighs a fucking ton! Expensive too.

If a kid says his stuff is platimum, it's probably silver.

Take the gold to a jeweller, melt it down and make something new out of it.

24k gold is soft compared to other metals. Take the 24k and mix it down to 18k, it'll be 'brighter' and less prone to scratching and dents.

Diamonds are cheap. They are expensive due to the market being controlled (manipulated) by DeBeer's.
