Supposedly theres some volcanoes on the san andreas fault in alaska, one of them became active last year, when they go, the whole west coast will slide into ocean, like on the cover of that tool cd.

man I have been waiting for the big one for about 20yrs now... if it does happen, I hope I am not at work. Elevator pits are not exactly a great location to be for such an event :P

Im afraid some non-geographically-informed person mislead you.

1) the san andreas fault is in california, not alaska
2) there are no volcanoes at faults!
3) the world would only "slide into the ocean" at a subduction point (eg vancouver island), not in california OR alaska.

It would suck if it happened while I was at work.. like.. 15 meters in the air.

It's no good tying off your body harnass if the whole goddamn guideway comes down.

First of all: BOLLOCKS!!! There has _never_ been a system to predict earthquakes.

And, NO! Animals aren't alway reliable.

Secondly: laska?: FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
_EVERY_ volcano on the planet is on a tectonic plate edge, (locally referred to as "faults") !!!!!!!
Look: http://volcano.und.edu/vwdocs/vwless...cs/part12.html

Am I prepared for an earthquake? Sorta. Mentally, yes. Physically (stored water and food?) no.

Do I live high enough to stand a tsunami? Yeah.

Will I survive a Big Jiggle? Probably. I'm pretty nimble, a good swimmer, and pretty damn resourceful.

Will there be a Big Jiggle within the next decade? Who knows? God? pfff......

Frosty

While the chances of that happening are still very slim, such an event could trigger a tsunami equal to the size and the strength of what hit the Sumatra-Andaman Islands in 2004.
^that's the type of environmental disaster that happens everytime I take a dump in the ocean! =) haha
