Avs possible road to a Playoff birTH!

Of course u kno im gonna start a thread about IT !

i know were 9 pts out ... but every year theres a team that gets hot down the stretch and squeeks into the playoffs.

This yr could very well be the AVS yeAR !

14 games remain for the avs ... 9 pts behind Calgary , 10 pts behind the Wild ... yet we got a combined 5 games remaining vs these 2 teams ... also 3 vs Vancouver.

If they can sumhow win 6 of these 8 ... they should be in good shape.

Factor in the fact they've won 5 straight --- Paul Stasny looks like a 20 yr old AlexTanguay . ..

U NEVER KNOW .

regardless im more then satisfied with this years avs progress ... a team picked by nhl scouting to finish 13th-14th in the West.

5 games over .500 still in the hunT !

what can I say there's nothing wrong with cheering for your team. who knows maybe Minnesota and Calgary will fall flat and Colorado and St Louis will both squeak in...

I definitely agree with the band wagon comment in general though. I've been nearly the only person I know who didn't jump on the Calgary or Edmonton band wagons. for some reason I hate most hockey teams other than the Canucks. Montreal and Ottawa are the only exceptions and only if they're not playing the Canucks.

realistically though Colorado should be getting geared up by hitting some balls at the driving range.

Stim, for you to still be a fan of the Avalanche even though they're not having the best year is honorable. For you to think they've got a shot at making the playoffs is retarded.

Wow word for word the same as me. I can't stand edmonton and calgary. I dont' care if they are canadian I can't stand them. Refused to ever cheer for them even if they make the finals and win the cups which they almost did.

p.s: the only canadian teams i love other than vancouver are ottawa and montreal too. In that order good post senior

Um Stim you forgot to throw in that minnesota and calgary have to start losing for the Avs to gain any ground.

Notice how the avs have won 5 straight and how they are still 9 pts behind. Its cause the canucks,wild and flames aren't losing. If they do its like one game out of 4 or 5.

Barring some disaster by van,minny and calgary colorado is done. Along with edmonton who might as well go buy some new golf clubs

I am glad edmonton is out. They don't deserve to be in the playoff's. Colorado just lost more ground by losing to minny in o.t.

I shall third this Ott because I have liked the team for the last good few years. I mean come on Heatly Alffy and Spezza are killing it for me :) Mtl because well it is Mtl enough said. Also gotta give it up for Boston they done fuck all but love the bear.

I definitely cheered for Tampa but I was mostly indifferent to Edmonton or Carolina. Lecavlier, Richards, and St Louis are all amazing players to watch.

Oiler fans made me hate the Oilers a lot lately though. seriously they won the Gretzky lottery!! now they have no one and suck. get over it!!!!

When it's a situation where Team A has to win every game and pretty much hope that Teams B,C,D lose every game then you pretty much have a better chance of being struck by lightning, while getting run over by a Mack truck at the same time. :)

The Avs will not be getting a playoff berth.

As for the whole pleased with their progress deal.... PFFFFT!!!! A lot of critics and sports analysts projected the Nucks to finish a possible dead last! Where are they now? Oh look! FIRST IN THEIR DIVISION! That's something to be proud of.

Canucks are 6-2-2 last 10, minnesota is 7-1-2 and calgary which is the important one even with there two losses are still 6-3-1.

um new flash. Toronto has been around since the beginning in 1917. Vancouver didn't join the NHL until the 70's.

I'm sure if Vancouver was a franchise in the NHL since 1917 they would have won a cup too.

Toronto last won their cup before Vancouver was even a NHL franchise.
